What a great day! I’m so sad it’s drawing to an end
I can’t say that I was super productive today or did anything amazing or special, but I did get to sleep in, drink a butt ton of coffee, and relax. Bonus – it was an absolutely beautiful day (I don’t think there was a cloud in the sky!) .
Instead of running, I headed to the gym today around 11:30 for a 45 minute elliptical workout. I used to LOVE the elliptical — it was my go-to workout (especially when I was pregnant), but since I’ve started running? BORE CITY. I felt like I was going to poke my eyes out at the halfway mark. Thankfully, I had my phone and Twitter to keep me occupied. Particularly, @healthyashley – who was running a (surprise) marathon in Knoxville. I’m not sure if/when she finished — but I hope she did! Thanks for the inspiration, Ashley! Can’t wait to read your race recap.
After the kids napped, we hit up the Splash Park and they basically ran around like silly monkeys for an hour. This is one of my favorite places to go in the spring/summer because a) it’s free and b) the kids burn off a ridiculous amount of energy!
We are now wrapping up the day and getting the kids to bed – I can’t believe this weekend is over already!! (oh, and PS I DEFINITELY clean the crap out of my bathroom yesterday. Woot!)
On a completely different (and somewhat whiny) note — I realized today that I HATE my haircut. It’s not as noticeable when I wear it curly (which I do often, because of the humidity and because it takes about 3 seconds to do) — but the cut is just all wrong. My hair flips out, when it shouldn’t and I’m pretty sure the right side is longer than the right. Boo! The only think I like are my bangs, which I cut myself. Nothing I can do about it now, but in a few weeks I will be finding a reputable stylist that can save it. Thankfully, it’s just hair and it grows fast!
Tell me there’s hope!
Did you do anything fun this weekend? Do you wish you could be a kid again and just play in the water all weekend? I do!
I’ll be back later with my weekly menu — and I really need to do my March books post (<—slacking!).
