Weekly Menu & Workouts

I did a fairly good job last week sticking to my workout routine. Let’s just forget about Friday – m’kay? Maybe I’ll actually workout THIS Friday!? If I don’t, it’s OK. Five workouts a week for this working mama is actually DAMN good!

I forgot a few (major) items when grocery shopping this week (I’m an idiot)- so I have to stop by Publix AGAIN (does anyone else do this? Or is it just me?) later this week. I’ll have to refrain from buying stuff I don’t need (never happens). I do a have a pretty good menu this week…

  • Cajun Shrimp Fettuccine (had this last night – so good, every time)
  • Morningstar Farms California Burgers with Sweet Potato Waffle Fries
  • Chicken Tacos with Black Bean Corn Salsa
  • Chicken Stroganoff
  • Pasta with Marinara
  • Brown Sugar Meatloaf with Broccoli

As for my weekly workouts…here’s the plan:

  • Monday – OFF! WOOT!
  • Tuesday –  Run 6-7 miles
  • Wednesday – Upper Body at the gym
  • Thursday – Run 6 miles
  • Friday – Bodyworks at the gym
  • Saturday – 6 miles (a relatively early soccer game means cutting the run short!)
  • Sunday – Gym (maybe I can find a spinning class? I miss spin)

In other news…just trying to survive another week! I have lots of stuff going on this week including a dinner with an old co-worker (the big question is WHERE should be go to dinner?) and celebrating my brother’s graduation from grad school!

      Maybe Crave? I don’t know that ceviche is my thing. Maybe sushi?

      • Oh, that’s what I meant…Crave. Eh, Ceviche starts with a C. So I was kinda close. I don’t even know what Ceviche is. LOL Sushi is hard to say yes to after all the alcohol last night. ugh. <—- Kill me

          LOL! Crave sounds good to me. But seriously, I really could do Denny’s too. Ceviche has tapas and stuff – I guess I could do that too. We should probably tell Leslie though. Ha ha.

  2. I want to get to the point where I can just say “run 6/7 miles” like you, without thinking “RUN 6 MILES?!! UGH!!”. lol. I did 4 last week and have a ways to go to get to 6, I’m at the point where I can run 3 pretty easily and always find it hard to start adding from there! Tim and I and some friends entered the lottery to run Falmouth (7.1 m) in August.. we’ll find out later this month if we made it, if we do- you are going to have to pass some serious motivation on down my way!! :)

      If you keep pushing yourself you WILL get there! Do you run outside or on the dreadmill? I really can’t run more than 4 miles on the treadmill now. I want to shoot myself. I hope you get into the lottery — how fun :) When in August is the race? (I’ll be in MA at the end of July/beginning of August by the way – maybe we can meet up??).

      I will GLADLY send you motivation!

      • The treadmill is my arch nemesis.. so I am running outside about 2 times a week. I’m doing a 5K on Sunday, I had been working on “speed” (I say that as my speed is another person’s “jog”, lol- if I break 9:30 I’d be happy!) and then my plan is to start working on mileage after that (10K at the end of June).

        August 14th is Falmouth. Oohh.. yes, we def. need to get together this time! We should be around in that time frame, so def. keep me posted as it gets closer and we can plan something up.

          Oh good – I was going to say if you aren’t already running outside do it! Outside runs go by so much faster for me – even though I run slower and it’s harder on my body. Having scenery just helps!

          I will definitely let you know! I’m hoping to work out travel arrangements soon. If only the airfare wasn’t SO ridiculous right now.

    And that cat picture has me totally cracking up. I love it! That’s so how my Monday was…ugh.
