All I can say — is good thing for Daily Mile, because otherwise I would NOT be keeping track of my Marathon training. I have been slacking for the past 3 weeks, so here is a (somewhat) brief recap on what’s going on.
Long Run – Sweet 16(.12)
Tempo Run – 5 miles 47:40/9:31 pace
Sprints – 6 x 800s – 4.5 miles 41:22/9:11 pace
I also did an elliptical workout and an upper body workout to round out the week!
Long Run – 10 miles with Paula/Victoria’s pace group
I discovered that I hate walk breaks and love Winter Park scenery. And I always love running with Paula!
Tempo Run – 6 miles 56:57/9:29 pace
Sprints — err — hills in Peabody! 4 miles 39:11/9:47 (HILLS ARE TOUGH!!)
Long Run –
14 11.3 miles 1:54/10:03 pace
More hills and a late start led to a TOUGH run — but there was an awesome wedding with at least 2 hours of dancing with my family that followed…so I consider it even.
Tempo Vacation Recovery Run – 5 miles 48:22/9:40 pace
Sprints – 5 x 1000 (felt SO AWESOME to run faster again!) 4.5 miles 41:35/9:14 pace
I also did elliptical/upper body and spin! A great week 🙂
And now I’m allll caught up! The last few weeks have NOT been my fastest (although I have hit some of my highest mileage!) and I’d like to focus on speed a little more in the next few weeks. The heat/humidity is definitely playing a role in it – but I’m also not giving it my all.
Any tips for working on speed in the heat? I definitely fair better on the treadmill, but I really don’t want to run more than once a week on that evil thing. One thing I have learned is that If I EVER run another marathon — it will be in February/March/April!!!
What have you done that’s awesome during the last 3 weeks??? (I know everyone has at least 1 thing they can name!)
