First day of school for both kids was a success!
We took pictures…
Dropped off L as a family (B was really proud to show her the classroom) and then made it over to B’s school for the madness…
I only managed to get misty on the way to the classroom — although I was about 2 seconds away from losing it. Luckily taking pictures distracted me!
B did really good with drop off – he met some new friends and after a quick kiss waved us goodbye — and I officially had a kid in elementary school! Totally surreal.
I also managed to wear the worst shoes ever to drop my kids off. I don’t know what I was thinking. They are cute – but NOT sensible.
I seriously couldn’t wait to pick up the kids after work today! I got B first from his Explorers Room at the daycare and he didn’t want to leave. I took that as a good sign 🙂
L had an equally good day! She was happy and energetic, ate all of her food (to nobody’s surprise),used the potty, and she took a 2-hour nap (or so the sheet said). Yay!
B was willing to share with us that he had a great day, he got a green frog (green is good in the class behavior management system), a paw print in music (??), and ate the majority of his lunch.
For dinner tonight I kept it easy – knowing it was a long day for everyone. I was expecting a very whiny boy (CHECK!) so we went with something easy – Boca Burgers! I also served the burgers with some Risotto from Birds Eye Chef’s Favorites that sent to me via Foodbuzz.
They actually sent 4 items for us to try – and we’ve tasted 3 out of 4 of them.
Tonight we ate the Creamy Vegetable Primavera Risotto and it was really the perfect side to our meal! It took 4 minutes in the microwave and we were able to split it up 4 ways.
I will definitely try them again when I need a quick fix. Perfect for the family on the go!
I have to say today was a good day — maybe even a great day! I love my happy little family 🙂 Cheers to a start of a great school year!!
What’s your go-to meal in a cinch? What makes your day a good day?? For me – it’s minimal whining, lots of laughing, a good run, quiet time with the hubby (Mad Men – coming up!), and a glass of wine/beer.
