Today was one of those days…
While it wasn’t a BAD day – it was definitely long.
I decided that despite the high mileage tomorrow, I need to go to the gym or I would go insane. Instead of doing an intense spin class, I did 40 minutes on the elliptical thingy and some upper body work (I still haven’t made it into the weights area. Soon.). As I was picking up the kids from the daycare I got a text from Tracy – she was meeting me at Target. YES! That pretty much made my whole morning.
We spent a few hours there (mainly wandering around catching up) and before I knew it we were saying goodbye. This is when the real fun began. The kids took turns whining during lunch and then also took turns refusing to nap. B OBVIOUSLY needed to take a nap. His first week of Kindergarten was really taking a toll on him. L fell asleep briefly in the car – so I know she was tired too.
They eventually did sleep, but at opposite times and not for as long as they needed. My afternoon wasn’t bad – it was just…long and unproductive. They’re only little once though, right?
Dinner made up for the long afternoon. Mama Pea’s (are you surprised?) Green and Red Lentil Enchiladas (it’s in the book too!). I LOVE enchiladas – and even though I’m not a huge lentils fan this recipe was awesome. L loved it too. She ate 2nds and 4ths.
After dinner family time made up for the long day…
And winning a Running Skirt (you guys – I NEVER EVER EVER win anything) made up for the long day too!
Now this long day is about to be shortened drastically. My head is about to hit the pillow. Yes, I’m going to bed at 8pm on a Saturday. Doesn’t everyone?
When’s the last time you had a long day? Lentils — yay or nay?
