Five for Friday: September Happenings

Heeeeellllllooo September and Happy Friday!

September is going to be an INSANE month. I am basically taking as many deep breaths as I can right now because things are about to go FULL throttle.

Here are the top 5 things I am looking forward to this month:

1. NASA Tweetup – I don’t think I announced this – but I was picked to take part in the NASA Tweetup for the GRAIL lauch next Thursday!! I totally signed up on a whim thanks to Katy and I was picked! I confess, I’m a little nervous because there seems to be so many smart people going – but I love NASA, I love Twitter, and I’ve never seen anything launch (except from my house – which is really pretty darn close).

2. CFL Lady Blogger Meetup – I can’t wait to see these girls again!!

3. 20 miles – Take 2

Be prepared for more carb loading, ice baths, and mimosas the weekend of Sept 17th. This time 20 miles IS going to happen!

4. Miserable Miracle Miles

Let race season begin!! My first race is the Miracle Miles 15k in Downtown Orlando. I am NOT looking forward to running in the heat – but I am looking forward to the racing :)

  2. Congrats on being selected for the NASA tweetup! That sounds really cool. And good luck on the 20 mile run! I always find the 20-milers a bit nerve-wracking, no matter how many times I’ve done them. Hope it goes well!

  5. I did the Miracle Miles 15k last year and it was one of my favorite races :) The best part were the little signs about baby facts along the course

    • I’ve heard from some people that it’s a beautiful course and others that it sucks. Hoping for the latter!! I definitely love that it’s for a GREAT cause.

  6. Why are there so many bloggers in Orlando?!

I think a study needs to be done on this for real!

    • Ha ha! And there used to be MORE but they are all moving away. Paula and I are trying to remedy this. Own a blog? Come to Orlando!

  7. Woo hoo for our ladies dinner, pumped to see you next week. I’m also running the 15k so lets meet up!

  8. That NASA Tweetup thing is so cool! Congrats! I would love to participate in something like that…I wouldn’t call myself a NASA geek, but my dad totally is (he used to design software that went up in the space shuttle) and he would be SO proud. And it IS practically in our backyard…

  9. I’m looking forward to somewhat cooler weather so I can finally start running outside again!! I can’t wait to be completely moved into my new apt (aka…move into my boyfriends apartment that I’m invading and calling my own haha). I currently live b/n there and my old place and the disorganization is driving me nuts! And I can’t wait for football :)

    • Yes – PLEASE bring on the cooler weather.

Yay for moving in with a BOY :) Hope the transition goes smoothly. Just remember – you can throw his stuff away when he’s not looking – it’s not worth fighting about. Kidding. Kinda. Hee.

      Woo-hoo for football!

  10. I am also pretty stoked for Miracle Miles. It will be my first 15K, so I’m eager to see how I do. I feel like if I can do 15K in the September heat, I will surely be able to finish a half in December.

  13. Too Funny! I was reading this, hoping your Melbourne weekend getaway was going to make the list! It’s going to be so fun…girls are counting down the days! :) Disney on Ice is great…Livie will love it!

    • Yes – can’t wait! Glad it’s always working out. Dan asked me if I had talked to you about our plans and I told him no, I was just going to talk smack about it on my blog. Ha ha. I figure there will be football, food, wine/beer, and Wii. And Braeden probably won’t go to sleep until midnight!

  14. I am extremely jealous you get to do the GRAIL Mission Tweetup! That’s awesome! I am still kicking myself for not catching it before the signup deadline. I stalk errrrr check daily to see if they have any new missions posted. Good luck and have fun!!! :-)
