Princess Party

September 10, 2011 by Michelle 9 Comments

Last night was Girl’s Night Out for these two girls!

L and I met Jackie and her daughter E at the Amway Center last night for Disney on Ice’s presentation of “Dare to Dream.”

It was more like “Dare to Live in Controlled Chaos” – but it was fun none the less.

When we left the house there was a mini-hurricane swirling around my neighborhood. {I swear rain clouds just sit over my neighborhood every afternoon. Western parts of Orlando have not gotten as much rain as I have this summer.}

We made it decent time and after a little confusion and rude people I made it into Amway. This was actually my first time at Amway and man is it pretty! Definitely a step up from the Arena.

{Umm, yeah. Those are the only two pictures I took. I’m sure you know exactly what Amway looks like now with my Photojournalist skillz.}

We had about 20 minutes to spare before the show started so Jackie and I hung out with the girls became BFFs.

E showed L how to spin in a chair. L showed E how to eat her snowcone like a puppy dog. You know, tit for tat.

We also ate a super healthy meal (chicken tenders, fries, and a pretzel) and there might have been a beer involved.

{No children in the premise ingested this beer}

About 5 minutes before the show we settled in…

The show started right on time and for the most part L had a great time watching it.

Of course, she wanted nothing to do with me. Instead, she insisted on sitting on Jackie’s lap for a good chunk of the performance.

I think you just inherited a second kid, Jackie!

It was a really fun night and while L didn’t behave like a princess (I think E wins on that one), she was pretty darn sweet. I, of course, enjoyed all of the princess music and ice skating from The Princess and the Frog, Cinderella (when does this movie come out of the vault?), and Tangled.

{Not that you can tell what any of those are – ha ha}

It was definitely a crazy princess party (all I will say is — some of those outfits I saw ON KIDS –  YOWSERS).

A HUGE Thanks goes to Jackie for the invite AND the tickets (and for finding me after your trek around Amway). What a great way to end a hectic week!! Hopefully we can have another girl’s night out – soon!

What’s your favorite concert or event you’ve EVER been too? Probably Coldplay. I will see them in concert again and again. (and again) Hopefully next time I won’t be pregnant!

Who’s your favorite Princess? Belle for the win 🙂

    Belle is my fave too! My boyfriend also loves Coldplay so if they come to Orlando, I’ll see you there!

      I hope they stop by on their next tour. I’m guessing early spring (since their new album comes out in October!). I’ve been to the last 2 shows and I think they are amazing live!

    My favorite concert was Simon & Garfunkel. I know I sound like a Grandma saying that. I think I was probably a good 30 years younger than the majority of the people there but it was really good! If I had to give a cooler answer, I’d say the Flaming Lips was a close second.

    I agree – Belle for sure!

      Simon and Garfunkel sounds fun! I LOVE Paul Simon though.

    So adorable!!!! And it makes me so sad that I don’t get to go with M to her first big show like that. My friend got a 4 pack of tickets for an Elmo show tomorrow and is taking Makenzie with her, her daughter, and her husband. No room for me. 🙁

      Awww – that makes me a little sad!! It will still be special when you take her — it will be her first time doing something like that with you! Elmo isn’t going to trump that 🙂

    Sounds like the 4 of you had a great time!

    I’ve only seen a handful of concerts – NKOTB when I was in middle school, Kenny G with my mom during 8th grade (I know, how embarrassing) NKOTB again for my 30th birthday…most AWESOME birthday present EVER from my sister, and Ray LaMontagne about a year ago. By far, that NKOTB concert was my ultimate favorite – my sister and I had a blast! But if I had to pick an artist to see time and again, Ray LaMontagne would definitely be the one. I’m also dying to see Martin Sexton someday too!

      Hee on Kenny G! My first concert was Sting when I was 8. I never got to see NKTOB – I’m not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing (I wasn’t ever really super into them!).
