Confession Wednesday: I completely missed that it was Wednesday. For some reason today feels more a Tuesday. Confessing my deepest, darkest sins (note sarcasm) will have to wait until next week!
My kid’s got a fever…and the only prescription?
And this is NOT a good thing.
We got the iPad in July as a FAMILY birthday gift.
It wasn’t for just one person…
But he sure thinks it is!
Lately the iPad has become and obsession. We limit the time he’s on it (usually only on weekends), but it’s making my sweet little guy moody, mean, and not very fun to be around.
And yesterday morning took the cake. After pitching a fit the night before because we did not give him iPad time, he woke up in the middle of the night and played on it. Now, you’re probably thinking — why did you put it in arms reach?? Friends, this is NOT my first trip to the rodeo (OK, maybe it is) — he SOUGHT OUT the iPad that we HID.
I found him at 5am when I got up for my run. Sleeping. On the living room couch – with ALL of the lights on. FAN-TASTIC!
So we had to put down the smackdown and we now we have a no iPad law going on in the house. It’s not even someplace he can ACCESS. And he’s under strict orders to wake us up if he wakes up in the middle of the night (which, I’m sure we will regret).
It’s kinda tortuous to see this sweet face pout.
But man, he’s been acting SO ENTITLED and he’s only 5. What the hell? I love this kid with all of my heart — but he’s going to stomp on it when he’s a teen, isn’t he?
I know I’ve said it before…but being a parent is HARD!
So spill it…what’s one thing YOU did that broke the rules? I was a perfect child, so I don’t have ANY stories. 😉
