Last night the hubby and I decided to go to Crave for dinner. I’ve been wanting to go there for a while, but as we rarely go out to eat it hasn’t happened.
I even wore lipstick.
We got there around 7:45 and were promptly seated – in what might be the shorts chairs and tables ever. I felt like a giant. The restaurant wasn’t packed, but there was a decent crowd. We started with wine (some Zin) and beer and calamari – that was oddly served with mayo. I guess it works for some people, but for me calamari is paired with a red sauce!
For our meal, the hubby got ahi tuna – served with green beans and rice and I ordered 3 rolls of sushi: spicy tuna, caterpillar, and veggie.
The ahi serving size was HUGE and definitely explained the price.
The sushi was nice and fresh – but it wasn’t anything special and I (personally) don’t think it warranted the price bump. I’ve had better sushi for less. If/when we go back I will skip the sushi and go with the fish or steak (and possibly the lobster mash potatoes!!).
Overall, we enjoyed dinner – but not enough to go rushing back. It WAS nice to have some alone time out though – that we will do again soon 🙂
After dinner we made a very romantic trip to ABC Liquor and picked up some goodies for tomorrow morning.
We also picked out this:
And made some “chocolate milk” (2 shots of chocolate whipped vodka and 4oz of milk). Pretty tasty — and felt good getting a little calcium. Or does the vodka defeat the purpose??
Today I spent the day mentally preparing for my race and with my two loco kids, which may have made me mental. I tried to keep it the day low key (thanks mom for stopping by!) and kept my appetite at bay. For some reason just thinking about running 23 miles has given me an insane craving for gummy bears and sugar. Instead, I carbed up on jasmine rice and veggies (with chicken).
It was good (recipe to come), but not the same.
I’m feeling good about my run tomorrow. My legs feel rested. My ankles aren’t hurting (like they have been the past 2 weeks), I feel hydrated. I’m READY to get these miles under my belt and start my taper.
3 weeks till the marathon! <—-WOAH, how did that happen?
Have you ever been disappointed by a restaurant you were anticipating good things from?
Have you seen The Holiday? It’s on right now and I’m watching it for the 1st time. I’m loving it!
