Bowling and Books

Last night I had a work thing and there was bowling involved.

{Get ready to be astounded by the AWESOME pictures I took with my phone. They are amazing.}

and of course, fancy shoes.

OK fine. There was also beer. You caught me. Shhhhh. Don’t tell.

We played 2 games and I SUCKED. Seriously, there’s no way to sugarcoat it. Dead last, both games.  I did do better than the last time I played (roughly 5 years ago) – but that’s NOT saying much because my “high” score that time was 72. I scored over 85 both games, but I think I’ll stick to running!

5 years ago. We were dubbed “The Short Bus” team. Then this happened.

Yeah. I have no idea.

So, I was reminded last night by Melissa that I never announced my book selection for October. Well, now that October is more than half over (REALLY?? HOW??) I feel confident in my decision…

A Secret Kept by Tatiana De Rosnay

I read (and finished) What Alice Forgot as well – and I plan to post on it when we have our book club meeting. Whenever that maybe be. Ahem. No pressure or anything to the organizer. So read that too and we will have lots to talk about.

I DID also finish The Death Cure last night. I was satisfied with the ending (probably more than I initially was with Mockingjay) but there were definitely parts that annoyed me. If you read it, let me know and we will discuss :)

And finally, I’m in all day meetings today and tomorrow (don’t be jealous!) – so leave lots of funny comments for me to read when my day is done. Or for when I’m sneaking a peak at my email on phone. Not that I would EVER do that.

Do you bowl? I was hanging with some secret nerd bowlers last night…more than half of them where in bowling leagues when they were young…which makes me feel a little better about my score

Do you read? How nerdy can this post get?

I’ll be back next week with a confession. Promis!

    Beer has CARBS. I don’t know if you’ve heard, but those are excellent for runners. I really like bowling, but I am pretty terrible. I think i would be better if I had a bowling shirt that had “Trixie” embroidered on it. Just a hunch.

    I am reading this Nelson Demille book that’s been dragging on for 2 months or so. It’s not bad, just slow. I really liked Gold Coast, but this one is a little slow. I definitely want to get a Secret Kept. Maybe I’ll go get a library card! :) #nerdy

    Ah yes, I finished the Death Cure Sunday. I was happy with the ending too but kinda empty on the whole thing. I kept thinking the whole time that he was going to be in another situation or test or whatever they called it. And maybe they actually are?

    I was a bowling nerd back in the day. I’m still decent now.
