Ridiculously Happy

Monday’s don’t usually make me write things like “ridiculously happy.” But, I feel kinda giddy today for a few reasons…

Hunger Games

Seriously, this trailer makes me giddy. Any doubt I had over the casting of Katniss, Peeta, and Gale (among many others) is gone. I also love that they only really showed the reaping and set UP the rest of this story. (Breaking Dawn you could take some pointers)

My babies

We had a really good weekend and day today. Maybe it’s the time change (or maybe the new jammies?), but they have been in great moods and relatively cooperative lately. It’s the little things that make me so happy!

3 Miles

It’s so odd to be excited about just 3 miles – but I am not a Monday workout person and I actually got up to do my recovery run today! The good running endorphins carried me through the day. My right ankle continues to be sore. Boo! I might have to make a trip to see Dr. Carissa soon.

30 Rock Returns!

We have a date – January 12th. Now Cougar Town can’t be too far behind. RIGHT?

Another reason I’m so happy? I kinda love Monday nights. The kids go to bed without a fight and I get a nice relaxing night at home with the hubby. What’s not to love?

And let’s not forget — we’re one day closer to Thanksgiving (holy crap, that’s next week??) and then… VEGAS!!

What makes you ridiculously happy?

  1. Oh my goodness – that trailer was amazing! And Lenny Kravitz as Cinna? I couldn’t be more excited! :)

    • I was really excited about that too – even though when I first heard he was cast I was really surprised. I pictured Cinna as being more flamboyant – but I am totally on bored with Lenny Kravitz with just that little tiny clip.

  2. Oooh!!! Thanks for the trailer – I’m giddy now too. I agree with Megan – Lenny Kravitz is a perfect Cinna. Can’t wait for it to come out!

    • It’s funny because Lenny Kravitz’s casting was the most surprising (to me) – and I am LOVING it. I can’t wait to see more!

  3. You already knew I was stoked about the trailer. But I did not see the 30 Rock news today. HOORAY! This was a pretty fabtastic Monday after all!

  4. YAY!!! i’m so excited for this movie; i’m torn because i’ve been wanting to read the book forever but haven’t had the time yet to get to it. so do i read it first or pull the lazy girl move and just wait for the movie? ;)

    • READ IT!!! It’s rare for a movie to be better than the book – and these books are awesome and intense. They are also very fast reads!

  5. Thanks for the tip about 30 Rock – it’s going in the diary. But for now the thought of it has managed to put Muffin Top into my head. Must try not to sing it at inappropriate moments at work tomorrow :)

  6. I read “The Hunger Games” and had to skip over that portion of your post because I just started reading the book because of a recommendation a friend gave me. I had no idea they were making a movie too!

I’m only on chapter 5, and already cant stop.

    • Oh, don’t worry – I didn’t spoil anything! The trailer doesn’t tell you anything that the jacket of the book does, so you can safely watch it! (Although, you may not know who some of the characters are)

  7. I liked that they didn’t show too much in that trailer too. And for REAL. I mean, Breaking Dawn showed the whole movie. So annoying. BUT, I don’t think the production of Hunger Games from that trailer, looks as “dark” as it should. It looks almost made-for-TV instead of movie quality. So, I reeallllly hope I like it!

    • Hmmm…I didn’t get a made for TV quality. It DID make me want to visit North Carolina (where they shot all of the District 12 scenes. So pretty!). I think it’s going to be interesting to see how much violence we get — as it’s going to be PG-13.

I think regardless it’s going to beat anything the Twilight movies have done!!

  8. I was so, so, excited to see the trailer. We have to all go when the movie comes out!
