Whew, what a busy weekend!
Yesterday’s day included my weekly spin class and Starbucks trip – along with a trip to the pet store (to kill some time – no pets for us!), lunch with my mom and then a going away party for one of my brother’s good friends (he’s basically family). This was technically the 2nd annual going away party. He keeps leaving.
Yeah, he loves Dawson’s Creek.
They had a great party — I made Buffalo Chicken Dip and Spinach Dip, and they served BBQ from 4 Rivers Smokehouse. Yum!
These pictures aren’t droolworthy – but 4 Rivers is definitely one of the best BBQ places in town! Just waiting for them to open one on my side of town!
I even got some quality time in with Gimzo, my pugle niece (hee). She has NEVER sat on my lap before, so this was rare.
(Is it just me or is she rethinking her decision?)
Today started out with a 13.5 mile run. I did not want to run. My legs are KILLING me from Friday’s strength training workout (BAD IDEA). I was whiny (my pace lead made a point to let me know it too – ha!). I seriously thought about running back in at 8.5 miles (making it about 10.5 miles) but I sucked it up.
After the run we frantically ran around the house to get ready for a little family photo shoot. My BFF Kate and I started doing this last year — they take pictures of us and we take pictures of them. Sure, the pictures aren’t “professional quality” (maybe someday!), but they’re free and they look great on Christmas cards!!
Here’s a sneak peek…
OK, and maybe this one too…
We then followed it up with lunch at PR’s Taco Palace and naptime!
Now I’m going to try to relax a little with some beer and football. I wish Sunday could last FOREVER!
