Remember how I said April wasn’t going to be quite as busy as March? What happened to that? And how are we only 2 weekends away from May?
Yesterday was quite possibly one of the busiest days I’ve had in a LONG TIME. Do I say that every weekend? It started with a 9.5 mile run with Kelly. She had 22 miles on her schedule. We usually run on Sundays, but she had stuff going on today and I didn’t really didn’t think I would do a long run on my own, so I volunteered to join her for about 10 miles.
We started from my house at 6 and ran up to the Waterford Lakes shopping center and back.

It was a GREAT run. I haven’t felt that good on a run in a while. It was a little humid when we started so the first 2-3 miles felt rough, but at some point the humidity lifted and the endorphins kicked in. I was sad when the run was over – I definitely could have gone for another 3-4 miles. Unfortunately, the hubby had to get to work!
After the kids and I said goodbye and good luck to Kelly (she went on to finish her 22-miler alone – she’s definitely ready for Flying Pig) we got ready for our next event: Soccer!

B moved up to the Kindergarten/1st grade soccer league this year and was SO excited that he got to play goalie during the first half!

His team “lost” (technically, they don’t keep score), but he had a great time blocking a few goals and stealing the ball a few times. I’m not a huge soccer fan, but I do love watching these little ones play.

Soccer finished up at 11, went home for a few minutes to change, and then headed to a birthday party. Thankfully, it was NOT a Chuck E. Cheeses. Instead it was at my friend Jackie’s house – her little man turned 1!

The kids had tons of fun and sugar and did NOT want to leave. Shocking.

We did finally get home around 2:30 and then naps happened. Oh, I definitely napped too.
And our day wasn’t over! For dinner, the four of us headed to Downtown Avalon for “Absolutely Avalon.” A great community event held every spring in downtown Avalon. We stopped by the booth the kids’ daycare set up and did some crafts.

and then headed to Margarita’s Grill for dinner.
I’m pretty sure this is the biggest burritos I’ve ever seen.

After dinner we walked around the booths and convinced the kids they did NOT need to go in the bounce houses (the lines were too long). We are torturous parents.

Impressive turnout!
Instead, we convinced our kids to go dance in front of the DJ (it took absolutely NO convincing, by the way) and they started a dance party.

You know it’s a good day when it ends in a spontaneous dance party. I’m sure it was the DJ’s dream come true to have a bunch of 3-5 year olds jam out to his tunes.

The dancing went on for at least 45 minutes. B could have kept going, but L was about to go to sleep on the pavement — it was time to call it a night!
After we got home and got the kids to bed, I realized how exhausted I was. We watched a few episodes of Mad Men (we are finally watching Season 5!) and then went to bed…and I slept for 9 hours. NINE. I’m usually good with 6 – so this is rare.
As for today… I need to do a little cleaning, I’m hoping making it to the afternoon spin class, and I need to go grocery shopping. Other than that?? NADA. And I’m going to enjoy every minute of
Hope you are having a relaxing weekend!

My Las Vegas burrito challenges your Margarita’s burrito.
I mentioned that to Dan (that was actually Dan’s burrito, mine was slightly smaller even though we got the same thing) and we both agreed it was bigger. It was 2 meals!
My Vegas burrito was totes 2 meals. Well, I made it one. But you know. Did he finish it?
9 hours of sleep sounds amazing! As does that burrito.

It was amazing. If only I could go to sleep now though…
Holy cow! You are super mom! You get SO much done & still manage to get workouts in. I’m impressed.

That is the biggest compliment EVER! I am definitely not super mom, but I am insane. LOL. It helped that I got to hang out with my friends at the birthday party
I wish I had gotten a picture of the burrito in relation to my husband. That’s a two-hander.
I need to invite your kids to my wedding so I have guaranteed people on the dance floor. I still haven’t been to Margaritas! Looks delicious!

They will definitely liven up your wedding. Ha ha. But I’m pretty sure you will not have any problems getting people dancing at your wedding!
I need to get you, Paula, and Jackie over to my side of town for margaritas! They are GOOD.
