I am so excited about this post because I created a spin playlist!
No, I am not teaching spin (but I am tempted to get certified like this lady just did), but my hubby took his first spin class on Sunday and I think he really enjoyed it. At the very least he was motivated to look up the gym’s class schedule.
Unfortunately, there aren’t any spin classes on the schedule during the times he can take them. Boooo!
Luckily, the bikes are accessible outside of the classroom so instead of going to spin class tomorrow he’s going to hop on the bike and try a spin workout created by moi! I might try to do this every Wednesday – let me know what you think 🙂
I feel like I’ve been spinning for such a long time that creating a playlist would be a lot easier than it was. A small part of me now forgives my past spin teachers who have not updated their spin classes and playlists in years.
So here’s the playlist…
and the workout*:
(Paula made me turn this into an image – hopefully you can read it!)
*Disclaimer: I am not a professional, nor do I pretend to be one. The bikes at our gym show rpm as well as the gear. As with any workout, work as hard as YOU can. It’s your ride. All numbers are a general representation of how fast or slow you should be riding – not a hard or fast rule.
Let me know you test out this playlist!
Have you ever taken spin/cycle? Have you ever developed a playlist for a class? Whew that was challenging!
I feel you would be a mean-ass instructor if you ever did get certified to teach a spin class.. but maybe that is something you are looking to do.. you mentioned just recently, that you were looking for another goal.. I think you may have hit upon it.. go for girl..
Enjoy your day… 😉
I agree with this!
I loathe jumps unless they’re from 2nd to 3rd. Especially if they are less than 6 count. Looks like a good workout though! I’m not sure I could do one on my own without someone yelling at me. Tho, I have REALLY considered getting a spin bike at home. I’ve seen them on sale. So if I do, I’m looking up this post. 🙂
I’ve been going to a spin class and while I like the class, I do not like the music the instructor plays. I wish she would borrow your playlist.
I love spin classes, but as I recently cut my gym membership I haven’t been able to do them. This looks like a great playlist!
I love spin and this looks like it would be a great playlist. I have though about getting certified to teach several times, but it is never high on the priority list.
I wish my husband enjoyed it as much as I do. I can get him to run, swim and do pilates, but he went to spin once and that was enough.
I would LOVE to get my husband into a spin class sometime – but he’s too much of a cycling ‘purist’ and just doesn’t get it.
And good for you for creating a playlist! I actually haven’t made one yet, even though I just got certified! That’s the scariest part for me – putting together the playlist. I think that’s because a good class (for me anyway) is contingent upon great music – it’s SO much pressure!
And I’m with everyone else – you should totally get certified to teach! (Even though the biggest hurdle after getting certified is actually finding a teaching spot somewhere…I still need to find one!)
Dang, between you and Paula and all this spin talk I am DYING for a spin class. Wanna come instruct me?! Just overlook that we live in different states, minor details.
On a side note, I wonder if Sean would like spin. I bet he would. I think the biggest hurdle would be getting him there in the first place.
We can have a virtual spin class!!
I’ve been asking Dan for YEARS to go to spin with me – and it just too one class. It helped that the class totally kicked his ass and it went by super fast. This of course, is why I also love spin.
Looks like an awesome workout! If you get certified…maybe you could sneak me into your classes ;). Or maybe I could use your card to get in…we are twns or at least sisters ;).
Someone who used to go to LA Fitness and is now at the Y asked me if you were my sister last week. LOL.
Speaking of spin instructors – they are all heading to the Y now. Little Lisa (all I can think of is “one-arm pump” hee) just joined (her daughter is on B’s soccer team) and is going to start teaching soon!
I know you are disappointed that I didn’t include any U2 on my playlist. Maybe next week 🙂
This awesome! How did hubby like it? I wish we had the good spin bikes like that, ours don’t tell you anything!
Nice! And I love the playlist (*special shoutout to Eminem*). I think you’re having an affair with spinning–and I like it!
Haha…too funny about the sisters. Wow…I knew she left LA. Jealous that she moved to the Y :). And yes you might add in some U2 especially for those “spin it out” moments 😉
I never spin but I might take your workout with me to the bikes in the gym tonight! I need to change it up from running.
If you tried it – let me know how it went!! The hubby said it kicked his ass, which of course I LOVE to hear!
That looks & sounds like an AWESOME workout!
I would take your spin class!! That looks like an amazing workout. I love spin class and look forward to it every week. Now if we could just get you on a road bike outside….. 🙂
Thanks for sharing. I am looking for the information.
Great article. It’s good tips for me.
When I try to view the workout, it says that the image is no longer available. This is happening for all of the spin workouts. Is there any way you can repost so that the workouts show up?
Updated!!! I’m not sure what happened 🙁
