I’m pretty sure the jet lag I was supposed to have last week has FINALLY caught up with me today. I am exhausted and probably could have gone to sleep 2 hours ago, so forgive me if this post is incoherent.
This weekend was nice – lots of family time AND friend time. I don’t remember what I did on Friday, but I apparently I emailed Paula this picture — so it wasn’t a complete waste.

I guess we really partied hard.
Saturday B had soccer and after we got to hang out with some sandhill cranes (soon after this picture was taken the daddy (mama?) bird almost went after B!). They are not afraid of people or charging at them!

And then he headed to the gym so I could log some miles. I just COULD NOT get out of bed Saturday to run. Excuses, excuses I know. I wanted to do 8 miles, but given my time I only squeezed in 5. Lame.
We lunched at Davis Bakery. It was good, as usual.

and then I drove the kids out to my dad’s place at the beach where they had a sleepover… and we had a date night!

Well, it was kinda a date night — it was actually a going away dinner for my psuedo-twin, gym, coffee, Target buddy – Heather.

She is moving to the great state of Pennsyvania with her boyfriend, Marc. Yay! but boo

We ate dinner at Hillstone — and OF COURSE, I had to get the veggie burger (I also convinced everyone at my table to get it too – I think they were pleasantly surprised).

After dinner we watched the sun set, acted a little silly, and said our goodbyes and good lucks! I’m going to miss that girl

There might have been a nightcap margarita on the way home — hey we were child free!!

But don’t worry — today we paid for it. We left the house at 7:30am to get the kids
No sleeping in for us!
We did get to relax a little today — well, at least Dan did.

Ha.
This afternoon we hit the gym for spin (gah, I wanted to die, it was a HARD class!) and a quick run. And while the boys went to the movies – the girls went food shopping (that’s equal, right?). This, of course, means our life has COMPLETELY returned to normal. Yes!
So without further adieu our menu…
- Pasta and marinara sauce
- Grilled cheese and avocado sandwiches
- Chicken, sweet potatoes & cauliflower vindaloo

- Bruschetta salad
- Lemony chicken with grilled zucchini and yellow squash
- Broiled steak and veggies
- Avocado lemon quinoa (or maybe couscous) with chickpeas and shrimp
And for my workouts…well, I need to stop SLACKING OFF and step it up. This means an extra workout tomorrow and some upper body work. No more excuses!
- M – 3-mile run
- T – 5 mile run
- W – Spin + 2 mile run
- Thursday – 3 miles + Upper Body Work
- Friday – Spin
- Saturday – 8-10 miles
- Sunday – Spin + 3 mile run

I am going to really miss you too. Thanks for coming out for our final night out in Orlando. And thanks for dinner, i appreciate it! It was a sad night, but it was nice to get to see everyone. I will definitely get iChat installed so we can use it to catch up. The move is starting to sink in, I am sad to go, but am excited and happy for Marc. Miss you tons (as well as Dan and the kids of course). And your hug was awesome
Sitting in our hot tub several times..curing my lower back pains..which helped immensely! Shopping for food w/Norm..and catching up on sleep from our trip to SF!! Where in PA is Heather moving? She’s not coming back? Oh My! I wish her happiness! Enjoy your week!
Sounds like a good weekend — well, except for the back pain
Heather is moving to the Philly area.
I went to a fun concert this weekend. That was my highlight.
Do you have Vegas restaurant recommendations? I know you went a couple months ago. We’re going on Sunday.

I saw your pictures on Instagram — FUN!
My two favorite restaurants are Burger Bar (in Mandalay — good food and good drink prices! Sit at the bar, the bartender is REALLY awesome. I swear he was there everytime we were) and Mesa Grll (Bobby Flay’s restaurant at Caesar’s – don’t go for dinner though, lunch is cheaper and portion sizes are about the same!). We also liked Mon Ami Gabi at Paris (sit outside – it’s directly across from the Bellagio fountains) — and one of the bartenders we talked to said that the restaurant at the top of the Effiel Tower is awesome too!.
Holy 6 days a week running, batman!

1 down, 5 to go!
The mileage isn’t really any more than normal though. We’ll see how I like breaking it up into smaller runs. I DO love running after spin. It feels SO much easier!
