Workout {Barely} Wednesday: Spin/Cycle Workout #5

May 23, 2012 by Michelle 7 Comments

A little late – but it’s still Wednesday!

Here’s a little workout similar to the one I did in class this morning. 1 warmup, 6 climbs (with a minute break between each climb), 1 cool down. (we did 5 climbs – my legs are still sore)

This workout is meant for you Paula. Minimal sprints, no jumps, no Rihanna (although there is Coldplay – sorry). No fooling around.

Accompanied by the most random playlist EVER…

Spin Playlist 5

And – tada – the workout…

Spin Workout 5

What’s your favorite long song? Aaaaannd go…. (mine is American Pie. I love to sing the shit out of that song. I’ll even do it in front of people.)

Liking that workout. That IS for me. True story, I put American Idol on on the treadmill tonight for something mindless to watch. Who’s performing? Rihanna. #killme

Anyway, favorite song of all time? That is a mighty tall order. But I’m gonna have to go with Tiny Dancer. I also really like Into the Mystic and T.B. Sheets by Van Morrison. (who I thought was dead for years. Apparently totes alive.)

Ha – Rihanna is out to GET you (although, I do really love her new song that’s on the radio).

It didn’t necessarily need to be of all time – but favorite LONG song. I do love Tiny Dancer – almost put it on this playlist, actually. Ha ha. That and In the Air Tonight. I guess those will be on my “it’s Paula’s birthday” playlist. Any other requests?

And yes, Van Morrison is still alive AND just celebrated his birthday <--things I wish I didn't know.

Instead you just get virtual instruction! Ha ha. Oooh – maybe if I ever get a spin bike at home I’ll do a video teleconference. Hee!

I love these spin workouts that you put together, it makes me motivated to try spinning! Oooh, it’s hard to pick just one favorite long song. My top four (yes, I couldn’t narrow it down any further) are American Pie, Bohemian Rhapsody, Come Sail Away, and Scenes from an Italian Restaurant. 🙂

You need to come with me to a class sometime! I can bring guests 🙂

Love ALL of those songs. It is hard picking just one!

I’m not even going to try and pick a favorite song. It’s just not possible. But I do love American Pie. In fact, I sang it to E. every night when she had colic and would scream for hours. I was so sleep-deprived and it’s the longest song I knew … the longer I sang, the less often my brain had to to think of a new song to sing. Beatles songs are shockingly short when you’re not singing the chorus 5 times. I’d blow through those in about a minute. But American Pie? I could stretch that baby out.

But let’s pretend that Madonna never recorded a version of it. That still scares me.
