Three Things Thursday

May 24, 2012 by Michelle 17 Comments

Jumping right in today…

1. I am a little bit obsessed with this trailer.

Now, I’m not a HUGE Leo fan – but Leo as Gatsby in a Baz Luhrmann movie? Game on. Maybe I would feel this way about anyone playing Gatsby (Robert Redford? Pretty hot)?I don’t have a favorite book, per se (I mean – how can you pick JUST ONE), but The Great Gatsby is up there. I can read it again and again – and still get sucked into that world.

Too bad I have to obsess until Christmas.

2. Damn you Modern Family for making me CRY last night. Between Cam and Mitchell’s disappoint, Haley getting into college and going to rom, and Gloria’s announcement I just could not stop!

I think my favorite part was Claire and Phil grilling Haley about how she was going to live on her own (while working at the Gap, during her gap year) – but the telenova was so well done too! Oh, and Phil taking a picture of Alex and her prom date “Now with some flash.” Bwahahaha.

3. B has 2 weeks of Kindergarten left. 1-2. TWO!! How did this happen? Didn’t I JUST take these pictures?

Extra bonus: I skipped my run on Tuesday – but I fit in a run on Monday, Wednesday (after spin class), and tonight. I don’t know how you guys that run 5-6+ miles every day do it! My legs were like concrete at the start of tonight’s run (thankfully, something clicked after the first mile). Seriously, what’s your secret??

3 Random Questions: Who’s your favorite author? What was your favorite finale episode this year? What were you doing 10 months ago?

Funny you mention this – I just finished doing a book survey! F. Scott Fitzgerald is definitely a fave – so romantic, so tragic!

Yes – so tragic and just so — true. It’s actually crazy to think that almost 100 years (or like 87) after this book was written so much of it is still relatable.

      I know – sad πŸ™

You need to catch up on your shows! Did you see the one where they went to Disneyland yet? Lily reminded me of AJ when we first went. Ha ha.

Ugh, I’m so behind on shows! I need to watch Modern Family and Revenge ASAP. Do you watch Smash? That was a pretty good finale!

Yes – Leo is SO Gatsby. Much more than he ever was Romeo πŸ™‚

It was awesome how they’ve wove the telenova across the whole season and then they end up in there own. If only Jay was there! Jay and Gloria are going to be SO FUN next season.

I agree–not a Leo fan, but Leo in a Luhrmann movie, and THAT Luhrmann movie will be fantastic. Kind of like Romeo & Juliet!

I think you just get used to running every day, but stretching a lot helps! And you’ve gotta be super hydrated or the bottom drops out.

Good point about hydration! I’ve actually been SO much better lately and I do notice a difference. I’m going to TRY to run less miles on more days and build up. I feel like that will, for some reason, really help me as a runner! And I need a new foam roller. I think I’ve killed the one I have.

        It will for sure!!!

And for some reason, the idea of you killing your foam roller makes me giggle! But I so prefer foam rolling to stretching! Hurts so good and all that.

Yes! The finale for Revenge was really good. I was wondering where they were going to take the next season – and now I have no doubts!

My book club read The Great Gatsby a few months ago, we decided back then that this movie was MANDATORY viewing for all book club members. Can’t wait!

Oh, and my favorite author is Chaim Potok, and 10 months ago I was seriously second guessing my decision to sign up for a 50k. Never doing that sh*t again, let me tell you!

I was actually just thinking today — I wonder if I will ever want to do a 50K? So far, the answer is no!

I think this would be a really fun book club outing.

10 months ago I had just gotten back from the best trip of my life, EUROPE! I was there for a month and I didn’t want to come back to the states! If I didn’t have a job waiting for me there’s a good chance I would have stayed there for good πŸ˜‰
