This has been the LONGEST week ever! On Tuesday I thought it was Wednesday and it was just down hill from there. The weather (rain, rain, and more rain) is not helping. I am so freaking ready for the weekend!
1. I don’t know how many miles I have on my sneakers, but apparently it’s time to get new ones.

What does it mean when you wear out both your toe AND your heel??
I’ve decided, due to the lower mileage, to buy a pair of Saucony Kinvaras 3 — in purple. Of course.

So excited to run in these bad boys!
2. I went to the dermatologist this week after 4 years of procrastinating. I am blessed with a more Mediterranean skin tone (thanks dad for those Greek genes!), but skin cancer runs rampant in my family (the Irish side – go figure) and I have had suspect moles removed in the past. I thought I was going to get off scott free this time (last time I got a cyst removed from my scalp), but he found a small mole on my back and scraped the crap out of it to do a biopsy.
It’s an area that doesn’t get much sun. It’s always covered when I’m running, and I rarely burn there – but it’s still suspect. It just proves you can be religious about applying sunscreen and staying out of the sun and it can still impact you. So this is really just a PSA — if you haven’t gone to a dermatologist or had your skin checked: GO. It quick, painless, and chances are you are erring on the side of caution. Check yourself before you wreck yourself.

Or you know, this.
3.Today was the last day of school! The kids were ecstatic. My bank account already feels poorer (PS – Summer Camp can be expensive!)

Doing the Wolfpup!

I now have a 1st grader and a preschooler. Where this year go? And YAY! for summer
3 Random Questions: 1. What are favorite running shoes? 2. When’s the last time you went to the dermotologist? 3. Who was your favorite teacher? Mine was Mrs. Cohen – 4th grade. She was also my neighbor until I moved after 5th grade. I wonder what happened to her.

1) Since I started being a more serious runner I have only been wearing the Brooks Ghost. Just recently grabbed the Brooks Ghost 5 that are blue and purple and so pretty! Reminds me of my 11th grade prom dress that I loved! Your Kinvaras are cool looking though! 2) I went to the derm about 3 weeks ago and it was so painless. I have very fair skin and it is critical for me to be checked and I was behind by almost a year. All checked out fine and she checks so fast, but so thoroughly. 3) Probably Mr. Stallings, high school Civics instructor.
My Kindergartner’s last day is tomorrow. I’ve considered crying a couple of times tonight, but have held back. He’s growing up so fast! But we’re ready for summer!
Paula just bought the Brooks Ghosts today! I did my marathon training in them and I unfortunately killed my peroneal tendon. Boo! I could probably go back to them with my orthotics, but it scares me a little. They are REALLY pretty though!
The past few weeks have been so emotional for me with this whole “being done with Kindergarten” thing. Didn’t he just start??? He’s in such an awesome place though and has really grown up this past year. The fact that he can read BLOWS MY MIND. One of my best friend’s is a 1st grade teacher and I am just so excited about next year.
1. I love my Brooks Defyance.
2. I’ve never been to the dermatologist but I keep on telling myself I need to go.
3. My favorites teacher was Miss Pitzen – 4th grade.

My 6th grade teacher Mr. Patrick was my favorite. I was the last grade to have 6th in the elementary school. The next year younger had it in middle school.

Don’t run..so don’t have fancy shoes..my Nike Cross Trainers are good enough for me!! Yes, it hard to believe that the munchins are growing so fast.. Will make an effort to come down to see L in her ballet class.. but not right away.. see if she likes it!!
Went to the Dermatologist about 6 months ago, after not seeing him for 2 years..and he did take a few biospies..but they all turned out negative! Yes, the Irish side of the family has issues with Skin Cancer!! But your skin type takes after the Greek side..not so with your brothers!! Ms. Cohen is still alive and doing well.. the last I heard.. Im too old to remember who was my favorite teacher…mmmm.. I’d have to say .. Mr. Witherspoon in HS..Ancient History..
1. I got the Kinvara 2s and I loves! I hope you love them too and we can be shoe twinsies, except you know, I paid for last year’s model.
2. I’m religious about the dermatologist. I go every year around my birthday. I’m just too pale and too freckly not to go. I’ve only had one thing removed so far.
3. Holy crap, my bank account is already crying. Hayden stays with grandma during the school year so this is super shock to us. I CANNOT wait until Addie finished up PK this year and we can have two of them in real school.

We are twinsies in every other way – so this does not surprise me! The only thing that surprises me about you is that you are an accountant. Ha.
B is switching is extended day at his school next year – opposed to going to his daycare – and it’s going to save us $60 A WEEK. I am SO FREAKING EXCITED!!
It is literally on my mental “to do” list for today to schedule an appt with a dermatologist! Where do you go? I don’t think I need a referral with my insurance, but I don’t have a clue whom to see.
I go to Dr. Ronald Knipe – he’s downtown. I’ve been going to him since I was probably 19? Nice guy, very efficient, and doesn’t make you come back if you need mutiple moles/skin things removed (that happened to a friend of me – the Dr. wanted him to come in separately to get each one removed and charge him each time!).
Saw Dr. Dimitri Palceski 3 months ago, and for the first time in my life had to go back to have sorta bad news removed on my shoulder. It was pre-stage, so removed to be cautious. Now I have a 2-inch scar. I’ve been loyal to sunscreen since about age 30, after dark tans went out of fashion. (Got that, Tanning Bed Mom?)
We are so glad to take a break from the stress of school!
We will be Kinvara twinsies! Though, I didn’t get the purple. I ordered 2 colors and I’ll see which ones I like better before I take it home. Either the “watermelon” color which looked really good on another girl in the store or the red/blue which seemed really fun.
