Workout Wednesday: HIIT It

I can’t even put into words how insanely crazy this week has been! I’m slammed at work, I’m busy at home, I still have like 16 episodes of Breaking Bad to watch. This is a problem people.

Not a problem?? This HIIT workout I did for the Best Body Bootcamp. Sometimes I amaze even myself because through the insanity, I can still find time to hit the gym and de-stress. This workout was a PERFECT fit for a hectic life!

The instructions from Tina were: 20 minutes, 5 minutes of warm up, 10 minutes of 60/60 intervals, and 5 minutes of cool down. I could have done this workout on the spin bike, or the elliptical, or even outside – but I chose to do it on the treadmill. <–I would not have said this a year ago.

HIIT

2.35 miles later… it KICKED my booty. My hamstrings are talking to me. The best part was that it was only 20 minutes (I followed it up with about 20-25 minutes of arms at home!).

Next time I think I will keep the speed and up the incline during the intervals. I figured I needed to slowly introduce myself to hills. They haven’t seen those in quite a while!

Do you have any workouts worth sharing? PLEASE Link them in the comments so I can pin them. I love new workouts!

  1. LOL to 6.8 being your “rest”. I was doing 800s at 7.0 today and could get through 2 of them. I was supposed to do 8. :-( Probably ended up doing the same amount of mileage as you. I guess some mileage is better than no mileage!

    • Yes – some mileage is better than none always!

Running 6.8 at zero incline after running at 8.0 with a 2.0 incline felt amazing. I don’t think I could have done it any longer than a minute – and knowing I was only doing 5 of them helped too. It’s all about the mental perception!

  2. Paula took the words right out of my mouth: rest at 6.8? I wish I had your speed girl! :)

  3. oh Breaking Bad is sooo good right now! you have to catch up! ;)
