Yep, Another Weekend

We really need to work on this whole “weekends are just two days” thing. Why do we work 5-day work weeks again?

So yes, I had another busy weekend – but it was fun and I spent a lot of quality time with a lot of people — so can I complain? Nope.

Friday night we ALMOST caught up on  Breaking Bad — we just have last week’s episode to watch (and of course tonights!). I can definitely say that Season 4 was my favorite (so far) — those last 3 episodes…WOW!

Heh.

Saturday morning involved swim lessons

Swim lessons.

and the final summer dance session — we get a week reprieve before it starts up again.

Last week of summer ballet/tap!

And I made myself do a workout. I really didn’t want to – but I definitely don’t regret it now. Plus, I’m sore, so there’s that.

After a restful afternoon (both kids napped — yes, even my 6-year old!!!) we headed over to my BFF’s house were we did some birthday celebrating for her hubby and sister-in-law. I definitely had fun hanging with my girls!

I loooooove that my kids and my friends’ kids are finally at an age where they can just play together. They had a blast!

We probably won’t think this is as funny when they are driving together at 16 and 17.

I *might* have drank too much wine. Story of my life.

Sunday mornings are usually for relaxing, but not when you have a Blog Conference (<–check out the newly released Conference Guide!) presentation to work on! I was up by 7 (oddly enough, on my own) and across town at Jackie Jovi’s place by 9. Jackie, Christine, and I diligently worked on our presentation for THREE hours. There was absolutely NO fooling around or Pinterest browsing at all. Nope. We did get pretty far into our presentation though and we’re starting to get excited!

We’ve also started contemplating if we need to wear adult diapers during the presentation because we are so nervous. Ok, that might just be me.

I made it home JUST in time to get to spin class this afternoon, where our asses got handed to us by a women who is half my weight and height! It was brutal. Also brutal? Back-to-school shopping.

O.M.G.

Orange County schools start tomorrow, as do classes at UCF — which happens to be less than 10 miles from my home.  Did you guys know that UCF is one of the biggest colleges IN THE NATION? I don’t know why I thought it would be smart to do some last minute shopping with B today, but I did and it’s a miracle that I survived. Kohl’s was insane. Target was insane. The Waterford Lake Town Center parking lot was like a huge ball of road rage and idiocy.

It was worth it though…

The best part of back-to-school shopping: hanging with this guy + froyo

Man, I love that face.

And now I am enjoying the last moments of my weekend in peace and quiet — or while blogging and listening to Storage Wars/football in the background.Ummm, sure…peaceful.

How your weekend? Do anything fun?

PS – Look for a BBB Week 4 Update tomorrow. Hint: I kicked ass!!

  1. Yes, it was insane! I might’ve been in the same stores at the same time (plus WALMART!!!) after Adam re-thought earlier purchases of backpack and binder. And I had to go through the Alafaya/Colonial intersection 3 times with all the returning UCF students. Yuck! But the cell phone repair shop is right there and they say I might possibly save the I-Phone, so it was worth it. By the way, you have the most fabulous kids on the planet. And they look good on camera too.

    • Glad you might save the cell phone. I meant to comment that you should go up to the Apple store and let them know what happened. When B dropped my phone in the toilet last year (remember that?? ha ha) they ended up giving me another one for free. It might have been because they pitied me — or because I was honest about it!

Oh, and you couldn’t pay me to go to Walmart — even when it’s not back to school. You are brave.

  2. So 2 things:
#1 I’m glad there was not “fooling around” time at Jackie Jovi’s

#2 Your arm in the picture with me appears to go on forever!

Soooo glad those days of back to school shopping are over for me!! Your pictures of the kids are so great.. Loved getting a call-back this morning from B and L in the background! Made my day! Yes, your arm looks like it goes on forever.. haha.. Enjoy the day..be careful of all the new people in town. Here where I live, we have Snowbirds.. you have College Students.. don’t know which is worse!! Love to you all!! <3

  4. Your presentation title slide looks great! I am trying to get a friend of mine to attend CFL Blog Con, so if he goes I might go after all. Unfortunately, that happens to be the weekend that my aunt will be in town from Boston, but I am thinking I could probably go see her on Sunday instead of Saturday. Fingers crossed that everything works out! :)

  5. Waterford Lakes was sooooo horrible! I just needed to run errands, no back to school for me and I was definitely not thinking about the potential traffic until I got caught in it. My mom and I might have treated ourselves to some Sweet fro-yo after surviving the chaos…and some mini cupcakes might have made it home with us for dessert last night… :-)
