Hello from MCO (aka Orlando International Airport)!
I am enroute to Norfolk, VA. Well, I will be if my flight doesn’t get delayed again. The delays here are insane. I’m not even sure what’s going on because the weather isn’t THAT bad (and there are flights taking off and landing).
I wish I could say I was headed there for a nice Virginia Beach vacation — but a girl can dream!
I did spend some time at the beach this weekend. My dad lives in Indian Harbour Beach and he had a random Sunday off (he usually works weekends) — so we made the 45 minute ride over on Saturday afternoon.
It wasn’t beautiful beach weather and the waves were ROUGH (thank you Tropical Storm Issac) – so we decided to skip the swimming and sun bathing — and just go for a walk.

We had a fun night that involved music, dancing, and pizza — and then after the kids were in bed I enjoyed a little Prosecco while we watched The Hunger Games (<–still enjoyed it).

This morning was equally crappy (weather wise) — but we managed to hit the pool for a little swim (truthfully, I accidentally left my swim suit at home – so I just took pictures) and took in some of that wild ocean air. The wind was nuts.

On the way home we stop for some really great Thai food — that happened to be directly across the street. Umm, why haven’t we eaten there before?

It’s a good thing I’m not a food blogger, I never remember to take pictures until AFTER we have already started eating.
After a short drive home and throwing way too much stuff into a suitcase (I need to join overpackers anonymous) I am now spending HOURS at the airport chatting it up with random strangers. This is a talent I got from my mom, who is capable of talking to anyone, anywhere. So yeah, I might need to pace myself on this wine…
This leads me to ask — what’s the WEIRDEST conversation you’ve had with a stranger on a plane/train/while traveling?

Have a safe trip! Honk at us when you pass us by up here in VA
Will do
If I had known about the trip more in advance (it was really last minute) I would have planned a night with you guys! Next time
Isaac is making it POUR cats and dogs in South Florida! We are getting crazy feeder bands that make the rain come and go. Glad at least you made it outside!
I think we got the rain today – and the tornado warnings. I keep getting emails about it!! Just hoping my kids are safe!
Enjoyed spending a few with your kids, and enjoyed your leftover Thai food! Adam is now a convert. Bye the way, Isaac means “laughter”–guess he’s laughing at you waiting at the airport, or maybe at scaring Republicans in Tampa.
Glad to help introduce Adam to Thai food! The Thai restaurant in Waterford (Thai Singha) is one of my FAVORITES. They have good weekly specials too!
Thanks for watching the kids last night, btw
Looks like a good weekend and I hope your trip goes well. Try not to get kidnapped by one of those strangers.
Thanks lady! I haven’t been kidnapped so far — and I did finally make it to Norfolk!
