Just so you know, I’m still loving the HIIT workouts on the treadmill. They make running on that damn hamster wheel SO MUCH more interesting! Instead of focusing on how much time I have left or how many miles I’ve run, I focus on short intervals and quick recoveries. And seeing if I can squeeze in a water break. Luckily this week’s bootcamp workouts includes a few HIIT workouts.
This workout below includes 90/30 intervals — 90 seconds hard core, followed by a 30 second recovery. With my 60/60 HIIT workout I was able to keep running between intervals – but in this one it just wasn’t possible — and that, my friends, is a sign of a good workout!
I did this workout starting out at 7.2 (8:20 pace) — and ran the recovery at 7.4 (8:06 pace). I did all of my walk breaks at 4.5. And man, did I chug some water during those breaks! In the end – I ran 3.5 miles in 30 minutes. Not too shabby!
Deep Thoughts : Do you HIIT it? What’s your FAVORITE work out song right now? <– I need some new stuff on my iPod
My new favorite song is by the Beebs. Now I’m thinking I should have posted that anonymously…
Only I actually know which Kate this is — so your anonymity is safe with me. Is that the “As long as you love me” song?
Treadmill workouts are the best at getting out of a treadmill rut! My favorite all-time running song is Hey Driver by Lucky Boys Confusion. It’s been my jam since about 7th grade.
I start working out again on Tuesday (for the hundredth time) and the top song in the playlist is Bangarang by Skrillex.
