Yay it’s already Thursday! I’m really looking forward to this weekend – so let’s get this week over with, alright?
1. I made a new Pinterest recipe tonight and I think I might be adding it to my regular rotation. It was so easy and it involved just these ingredients: pasta, pesto, chicken sausage, brussels sprouts, and parmesan cheese (and a little olive oil).

I HIGHLY recommend it (and the kids enjoyed it too)!
2. Mom Brag: B was SO excited to show me the book he took out from the Library today — his FIRST chapter book (one of the books in the Magic Treehouse series). He even shouted, “I can read it on my OWN!”
Honestly, I am amazed at what he can do at 6-years old. I’m not saying that because he’s a genius by any means, but I don’t think I started reading chapter books until 2nd grade and I was an advanced reader. Things are definitely different these days. I’m also impressed with his school — they offer ”book clubs” for grades 1-5 (1st and 2nd graders read Magic Treehouse, 3rd-5th read Harry Potter). I’m kinda jealous. I want to be in a Harry Potter book club.
3. This lady emailed me this afternoon (2 seconds before I got the Track Shack email) about this upcoming race:
We emailed back and forth about it and I realized — why the heck haven’t I run this race before? A) It’s a 5 miler which is the perfect short distance, B) It’s super close to home, and C) It’s on a Sunday (Track Shack races are usually on Saturdays which can be a logistics problem for me).
So, I’ve all but signed up. I figured it might help me with my mojo problem — and I think it’s already working. It helps that I get to run another race with Paula. I’ve missed my race buddy!! This is from our last race – in MARCH.

Anyone else running it?

I know crazy right? Where has the time gone?
Try the recipe – I think you both will love it!
OMGosh – that recipe looks sooo yummy! I love brussel sprouts. Problem – I’m not on Pintrest. I can’t join anything else that will distract me from work (more than I already am!) So, I’ll just wing it. Thanks for sharing! Good luck in your race. I’m running a 5k Saturday @ 4pm.
You don’t have to be on Pinterest to grab the recipe! You can just click on the link below the picture and it should take you to the site it came from.
That said, it’s pretty basic. You could definitely wing it without looking at a recipe!
I’m thinking about doing the Distance Dare at the U Can Finish. The early registration discount ends tomorrow, so it’s about time for me to pull the trigger! My training mojo has also been on low since this summer, but I’m hoping registering for some races will kick me back into gear.

Oh my goodness–I am in love with that picture of B reading! It makes my teacher heart feel all warm and fuzzy
The last great thing I made was an apple and jarlsberg panini with thyme on sesame baguette. TDF. And so easy!
