It’s About Damn Time…For New Hair!

November 20, 2012 by Michelle 18 Comments

So it’s been about 9 months since I last got my hair done. Yes, I could have already gestated a baby in this time (in fact, a few of my friends did). I *might* have gotten it cut in April (I can’t remember) – and colored it with a box ‘o color in May, but I haven’t gotten the full treatment since February. This is mainly because I didn’t love the person I was going to and the salon was pretty far from home (it took about 30-40 minutes from work). So instead of going to find someone new, I got lazy.

And then my boss found a new stylist (thanks KNed!) and I liked what she did with her color. So, I harassed her until she gave me her number and the rest is history.

I started out with scary hair. It overgrown and just blah. This is really because I finally let my bangs grow out – and let’s face it – I need bangs. My forehead is HUGE without them. It’s like a billboard.

Would you like to advertise on me?

I knew I wanted to add some color back, so I wanted to wait until I had passed the first trimester. I’m not overly paranoid about doing color when pregnant (or really anything I’m “restricted on” during pregnancy- yes, I plan on sipping a glass of wine on Thanksgiving) – but I WILL wait for the first trimester to pass for safe measure.

So long story short – I finally got my act together and got my hair done tonight. I went in not knowing what I wanted – except that I wanted it to be different – and that’s definitely what I got.

While I waited for my hair to process, I got to relax and watch Cruel Intentions. It’s crazy how young everyone is in that movie.

Hello SMG…
After about 35 minutes and a shampoo — the results were revealed…

I LOVE it.

I also love the cut and my new bangs (she did a quick trim and got rid of some of my bulk – my hair is super thick). The best part? She didn’t try to curl my hair under or flatten it beyond recognition – she styled it exactly like I would. It’s definitely the little things. Oh! And the fact that it only took 2 hours. It was the shortest cut and color ever.

It should be interesting to see how the color fades in the next few days (right now I look like I am REALLY excited about the FSU-UF game this Saturday).

One thing I know – I will definitely be back. Looks like I found myself a new stylist!

So yeeah apparently “what are hair plugs and how do”, is not a post by you. Although, it looks like it is because it was in the “you may also like” section of your blog, with other posts that are yours. When I saw the thumbnail I was like “whaaaaaaat? Is this a new fad? Am I hair plug worthy? Is this code for something about bath salts?” Turns out – it’s not you at all. Now I will never know any of those answers. Boo.

OMG that is SO funny!! Sometimes random blogs posts pop up with mine (it’s hit or miss).

LMAO about bath salts. Did you read that post? It might come in handy some day when I DO need hair plugs.

LOVE it!! It looks so good! Um yeah, two hours would be a miracle. You know how long my last one was. I really want red again but it was frustrating how quickly it faded out of my hair last time. Hope yours lasts longer!

I will have to give you her number because the amount of time you spent… I just can’t imagine. Her prices are pretty reasonable too.

I LOVE it. It’s looks super cute on you! I’m so ready for a new hairstyle, but I don’t want to have to put any effort in to doing my hair in the mornings.

Thank you! And yeah – I don’t spend a lot of time on my hair in the morning either. I probably blow it out once a week, if I’m lucky!

Your hair looks great! I love the color.

I may have to hit you up for the stylist info. I am still looking for a good person in Orlando. I had my hair cut in October and it was a nightmare. My hard is ridiculous, so I am always a little nervous.

    Have a great Turkey day!

I’ll email you her info – she’s in the Oviedo area.

I’ve had a hard time finding someone since my hair lady left (like 2 years ago). I feel like it should be easier in our area!
