You know that crazy feeling where you want something SO BAD when you can’t have it? Well, I have it. I swear it’s something that is just engrained in as at a very early age. You don’t know you miss it until it’s gone. That’s currently how I feel about sprints – or really just running fast in general.
Six months ago you couldn’t have paid me to run sprints on the treadmill. Today? I hear a catchy song and it’s ALL I want to do. Yep, absence does make the heart grow fonder. What can I do about it? Umm..well…nothing. But I don’t want to forget this inspiration/momentary lapse in judgment, so I did the only thing I could think of — I created a playlist. Aren’t you lucky?
Kiss the Ring – My Chemical Romance: This is one of my favorite new songs. Listen to it – it kicks ass, kinda makes me angry, and pumps me up.
Right Now – Rihanna (feat David Guetta): I’m surprised this one isn’t on the radio yet. I have apparently become a huge Rihanna fan because I looooove this song.
Sweet Nothing – Calvin Harris (feat. Florence Welch): I almost crank up the treadmill everytime I get to the “dance” part of this song. And then I remember it’s probably not a great idea.
I’m Shipping Up to Boston – Dropkick Murphys: For the record, I’ve had this song on my iPod WAY before The Departed came out. This song stresses this girl out, but I love it. It makes me want to scream.
Maniac – Michael Sembello: If you don’t love the music from Flashdance, I don’t know we can be friends.
Back to Love – DJ Pauly D (feat Jay Sean): This is a new song on my playlist and it’s one of my current favorites. It makes me want to run and run fast. Or at least faster.
Where Have you Been – Rihanna: See, I can’t hide my Rihanna love anymore. And damn this song is catchy!
Harder to Breathe – Maroon 5: This is the song I used to play every time I got on a treadmill — before I became a “runner.” Sometimes I could play it on repeat – over and over again.
I See Right Through You – DJ Encore: This is the my original sprinting song. If I needed to get through a run – this used to be my go to song. I still love it.
Don’t You Worry Child – Swedish House Mafia: I don’t love the guy who sings, but the dance music is awesome. I can overlook the singing.
I Cry – Flo Rida: Why do I love Flo Rida so much??? Why are his songs so damn catchy???
Let’s Go – Calvin Harris (feat. Neo): This is currently my “kick if off song” if I’m feeling unmotivated. How can sit still listening to it?
Titanium – David Guetta & Sia: This one is ALMOST overplayed, but the hook gets me every time. However, I do NOT recommend mixing it with The Proclaimers I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles).
Keep Hope Alive – The Crystal Method: I think this is actually a better spin sprinting song – but I felt like I had to include it!
I Will Wait – Mumford & Sons: I couldn’t decide which Mumford song to pick, so I went with the most recent/popular. I love that banjo.
Did any of your favorite songs make the cut? Any songs I should consider adding? What’s on your list?
