Happy Super Bowl Sunday! Yes we are watching the game, but I don’t really care about the teams. It’s really all about the commercials and Beyonce for me. This weekend was once again relatively productive. This time I worked on B’s closet.
His closet was less intense because all of his clothes are stored in his dresser. I might start hanging up some of his nicer polos/dress shirts, but boys are sooooo much easier when it comes to clothes (and shoes).
However, the kid has a gazillion toys with 100000 parts. I’m pretty sure there’s some kind of rule that as the boy gets older the toys have to have more parts.
Most of my work was spent sorting through old baby clothes that I hadn’t put in bins and throwing about random boxes of old stuff animals, toys, and ruined blankets. I still have no idea why I kept any of this stuff!
Sadly, the baby’s room is getting worse and not better.
I’m hoping this changes next weekend. The goal is to switch out the furniture! If anything it can’t get worse. In the past week we’ve picked up a few more important baby items – including the infant car seat and a baby monitor.
The infant car seat was a HUGE score – my friend Jamie came across the Britax B-Safe’s at Target marked down to an incredible $47. I’ve been thinking about getting the Chicco Key Fit, but the two seats are very similar and at a more than $100 off I couldn’t pass it up. She bought two for me (since the price of a 2nd one was LESS than the price of the 2nd base) and as a bonus I got to hang out with her for dinner! Also a decent deal – Target had the Motorola video monitor I’ve been eyeing available for it’s regular price — with a $40 Target Gift Card. Since I can always spend money at Target, it was basically like $40 back. I love a good deal. Thanks Tar-jay!
I think it’s safe to say that I just need a few more baby items and a coming home outfit and we are going to be as ready as we can be! I’m still trying to decide if I need/want a new stroller. We have two (one regular and one sit& stand) and they are still in working condition. The shopping part of me says “YES! BUY A JOGGING STROLLER!” but the practical side of me says “YOU DON’T NEED IT AND YOU WILL NEVER TAKE IT OUT JOGGING!”
Decisions, decisions… (really it’s more like “money, money”).
We are finishing up the weekend watching the Super Bowl Commericials (well, that’s what the majority of us are doing some are actually watching the game).
And eating Jambalaya.
If only I could drink some beer…guess I’ll have to stick to grapefruit juice.
