Three Things Thursday

Happy Valentine’s Day!

vday

Do you feel my contempt for the “holiday”? It’s not that I’m against the idea of love – I just… think it’s so sensationalized. I did send my kids to school with Valentines and I did get flowers from Dan, but BAAAAH- HUMBUG. Maybe I’m just not in the mood to celebrate this year, because I don’t remember feeling so “blah” about it last year. Or maybe I just have a cold, black heart. Did you celebrate?

In any case – here are 3 things unrelated to Valentine’s Day.

1. I made pancakes for dinner last night and they were AMAZING.

Protein pancakes with fruit dinner. Living the crazy life!

Not just any pancakes – Greek Yogurt Pancakes.

I was tempted to make them for dinner again tonight because they were that good. But, then I dropped the rest of my eggs on the floor when I opened the fridge tonight and that was the end of that dream.

I’m going to play around with the recipe and post a version of my own later next week. Be on the lookout!

2. I have banned myself from buying new running shoes until June. I simply don’t need them – but that doesn’t mean I don’t look at them. OFTEN. (if doesn’t help that I get emails from both Running Warehouse AND Roadrunner Sports) This of course does not ban me from buying shoes for B. Which is exactly what I did today. His next pair of running shoes…

GelBlur33OrangeKids

Aren’t they pretty? I bought them solely on how they look – they have gotten really great reviews (for kids and adults).

3. The hubby and I are going on a real date tomorrow night. We’re going to see Imagine Dragons…

Ummm… are there really stuffed animals and Lou Diamond Phillips in that video? What the?

We’re also planning on eating a full meal sans kids (well, except this one I’m carrying around) — it’s the first time we’ve been out in a while! The show is at the House of Blues, which I like to call Paula’s Place. Surprisingly  I’ve NEVER been there!

3 Random Questions:

1. What’s your favorite breakfast food for dinner?

2. Have you ever banned yourself from shopping? For what?

3. What’s the last concert you went to?

Comments

  1. Hee! There’s a place near the bar on the right side of the stage that has a perfect view and perfect spot under the A/C, which you might need since I saw the show is sold out. *So proud* you’re going there!

I might have to check out those pancakes you speak of. I’m on a pancake kick.

  2. Those pancakes look delicious!!! I haven’t had pancakes/waffles in a loooong time and I doubt I’ll be having them any time soon. It’s tough to make pancakes for yourself when you live by yourself.

I don’t think I’ve ever banned myself from shopping for something. I probably should though.

I’ve heard Imagine Dragons puts on an awesome concert! You’ll have to do a review. The last concert I went to…hmmm…it was 3 or 4 years ago and it was Billy Joel & Elton John.

  3. My two-year-old nephew loves Imagine Dragons. He can sing every word to Radioactive and even does the heavy breath. It’s so cute!

  4. Tie between pancakes and omelettes.
I am currently banned from shopping. It’s not going well. See –> 3 pairs of shoes I ordered online yesterday. Oops.
Imagine Dragons!!! Love them! Have the best best best time!!

    • You need to try this pancakes — ummm maybe find a vegan alternative to yogurt? Lol. OK, maybe not.

The ID show was really fun – I have a feeling they will be playing big venues soon!

  5. Pancakes for dinner = awesome. Plus it doubles as dessert! Win win.

  6. Too funny! I am going to see ID tonight in Asheville with hubby! We have a very fun evening planned, and I am so excited for it and to see ID and Atlas Genius. I didn’t realize they would be in Fl before NC. I look forward to comparing concert notes. Did they play “The River”? I will freak if they do. Hope you had a great time. Now I’ve got to go get some miles in before Eli’s basketball game and going on to A’ville so I will not have that hanging over me this weekend.

    • They might have played they song — they played almost everything and there were a few I didn’t know! It was a good show – you will definitely enjoy them :)

How did those miles go? I hope you ran a few for me :)
