Workout Wednesday: At-Home Circuit

February 27, 2013 by Michelle 9 Comments

Interrupting my naked belly pictures to share a new workout with you…

Yesterday it was insane at the gym. I mean it – INSANE. I got there at 5:45am (a random wakeup from L, where she insisted I lay with her for a few minutes, delayed me) and there was one treadmill left, every single elliptical was taken, the Bootcamp class was packed, and there were at least 8 people in the weight room. FYI – my gym is tiny and the weight room is even tinier. Trying to squeeze more than 10 people in that space can get dangerous. Hmmm… it seems like Spring Break effect is in full swing!

For about 10 minutes I contemplated going home and coming back after work – but dammit I WOKE UP TO WORK OUT! I also realized I would probably wake up the kids coming home so early, so I stayed and eventually it started to clear out a little. It was still too packed to do the Best Body Bootcamp workout that I was supposed to do, so I made my workout up on the fly – and of course, I decided I needed to share it.

While I did do this circuit workout at the gym, I had everything I needed at home… basically a set of weights (or two) and my body (I’m sure the belly adds a little extra oomph as well!).

AtHomeWorkout

I did also walk on the treadmill (while I was waiting to squeeze into the weight room!), but this portion of the workout took about 35-40 minutes (and I only did 2 planks AFTER I finished the 3 rounds). Not too bad.

So, if you experiencing Spring Break-itis at your gym, don’t be afraid to stay home and still squeeze a kick ass workout in. ย And if you aren’t sweating when you finish this — I’m pretty sure you’re NOT working hard enough. In fact, Maybe you should add another set…

Are you going anywhere for Spring Break this year? Where was your favorite Spring Break vacation? Mine was Key West – senior year of undergrad in college. I don’t really remember much about it, except it was definitely fun!

Spring break? What’s that? ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m actually going to Gainesville for class this weekend while everyone else will be leaving Gainesville for spring break festivities!

I feel ya – unless you consider “Maternity Leave” (which is really Short Disability) Spring Break?

I think next year we will actually do something. It would be nice for my kid not to spend his vacation at daycare ๐Ÿ™

I don’t know if I’d call it Spring Break, but I’m going to Naples, FL tomorrow to visit my father.

We’re going to a beach wedding next weekend sans baby, so that totally counts as spring break, right? ๐Ÿ™‚
