It’s been an relatively unexciting 3 weeks since I last updated on BW3. I’m going to shock everyone and state the obvious here: the baby is getting bigger and so am I. The good news is that the baby seems to have moved off of my hip. I don’t necessarily know where the baby is now (I just feel knobs trying to escape from my belly), but there is definitely significantly less pressure than there was last week. Whatever I did seemed to help! (Of course, I wrote this last night and this morning I woke up to the baby hiccuping on my hip – so who knows — I’m choosing NOT to stress about it right now. Easier said than done.)

As for everything else… well…. I haven’t done much. I attempted to buy paint this weekend, only to realize that Sherwin Williams closed at 2 on Sundays. It wouldn’t have been a problem if it weren’t already 3! (Note that I am using the word “attempt” loosely here – basically I just thought about going) We’ll try again this weekend with the hopes that it will get painted within the week. Or that we just have paint sitting in a room in a week.
I had a Dr. appointment yesterday with a new-to-me Dr. who laughed about the differences between a first-time mom and a third-time mom. Seriously, she was not joking. By 31 weeks with B the nursery was completely painted and set up, everything was registered for, I was signed up for classes, and I think I had even registered at the hospital. This time around I have some gear and some diapers and that’s about it.
Starting to even out size-wise. I might start a poll in a few weeks to see if everyone is thinking boy or girl.
While it IS funny to think about the stuff I need to do and haven’t gotten done, it’s also starting to stress me out slightly. So, I’ve resorted to list making with the hopes that if I write it down, it will get done! Here’s what I have left to do:
- Pick out/buy paint
- Paint room
- Set up furniture
- Clean baby’s room
- Sort through boy and girl newborn clothes
- Wash clothes
- Wash assorted baby items
- Borrow/buy bouncer
- Buy new swaddling blankets, burp clothes, and Boppy cover
- Find/wash Moby Wrap and Becco baby carrier
- Register for the hospital
- Stock up on liquor to bring to the hospital (kidding – just seeing if anyone is actually reading this list)
- Set up appointment with hospital concierge (don’t know if I can do this at the same time I register? This is a whole new service they’ve added since I had L. )
- Install car seat (and figure out who is sitting where in minivan – it’s like a puzzle)
- Stock up on/find postpartum essentials (tucks pads, pads, nursing bras, etc)
- Pack hospital bag (I probably won’t do this for another month or more)
- Decide on a girl name (we have a boy name picked out)
- Have said baby.
I can do this all in 2 months, right?
Here are the rest of the details…
Exercise: Still going strong 4-5 times a week! It hurts a lot more to sit on a spin bike these days and it’s a lot harder to transition between exercise moves, but I always feel a million times better (physically and mentally) when I’m working out.
Weight Gain: As of yesterday, I’m up 20 pounds. This is the most I’ve gained in all three of my pregnancies. Part of me thinks “OMG!” but then the other part remembers that I lose the weight quickly after birth. PLUS, with all of this resistance training I have been keeping up with, there is no doubt that the “extra” weight is muscle!Sure, I’ve gained, especially my legs and butt, but I still don’t fit into most of my pregnancy pants from previous pregnancies because my hips and legs are smaller. (And realistically it’s 20lbs – a HEALTHY amount of weight to gain! My inner voice needs to shut it.)
Cravings: The juice phase has passed! Instead, I’ve had a serious craving for a cinnamon-sugar pretzel, but I haven’t had the chance to splurge yet (is there anywhere I can get them besides the mall or airport?). I did buy some cinnamon-sugar pita chips on Sunday, but eh. They aren’t the same! I also really need an intervention when it comes to both Jimmy John’s subs and Greek Yogurt Pancakes. This baby is going to come wanting a sub and a pancake.
Sleep: Once I can get to sleep – I sleep fine, but there is a lot of waking to pee going on – and I know it’s only going to get worse! It also definitely hurts to roll over and sit up. I’ve been trying to stick to sleeping my left side, but typically wake up on my back and right side. Go figure.
Movement: This kid has really picked up in movement the past week or so. He/she is still the calmest out of the three – but the elbows, knees, and feet I feel right above my belly button are strong! Also, while I have been feeling hiccups on and off for the past 12 weeks, they are becoming more regular. While annoying, it’s good to know the baby is practicing breathing!
Baby prep: See above. Commence freakout!
I am having the house cleaned next week AND I have a prenatal message booked — so at least I’m using my Living Social and Groupon Deals before they expire. That somehow is related to prepping for the baby – I just haven’t figured out how, yet. Hopefully this denial stage will end soon. Until then, I’ll be sitting on the couch. Thinking about everything I have left to do.

We totally had champagne at the hospital
I won’t judge if you stock up on liquor! PS way to go with workouts! I’m so excited to find out of baby #3 is a he or she!

Love it! I might actually have to bring some considering this IS the last time I’ll be doing this
I am really excited about finding out as well – but I haven’t gotten to the point where it’s driving me crazy that I don’t know. I’m pretty sure that will happen soon though!
I’m in freak out mode too! Mostly because I’m stuck on strict bed rest and thought I had 6 more weeks of prepping to do! Funny how it sneaks up on you, seems like not that long ago we were discussing the joy of the first trimester and now here we are!

Ahhh it’s freaking me out too! I can’t believe you are on bed rest – you poor thing. Tell that little guy he needs to stay baking for a little bit longer.
It’s crazy how fast everything has flown by. I’m ready in the sense that I’m not stressed about the baby’s arrival, but so not ready in so many other ways!
Because you’re so cute and little, it’s ok to be in denial
I can’t even fathom having one child right now so kudos to you girlfriend!
Awww thank you! I definitely don’t feel little – lol!!
If you choose to do so (not sure you’re stance on having kids), you and your hubby are going to have to the cutest babies (baby?).
It’s so exciting to read all of your progress! I’m sure you’ll get everything done!

Thank you – and I seriously freaking hope I get everything done — at some point. Even if it’s after the baby arrives. Ha.
I’m 35 weeks along with my first, and I didn’t have that much stuff done by 31 weeks anyway, haha. At 31 weeks the most I did was buy most of the baby stuff, and pre-register at the hospital. We just finished the nursery last weekend

That makes me feel a little bit better! I apparently was all OCD the first time around. Now I’m like, “This kid can decorate their own room, right?”
I feel like you just announced your pregnancy (yes, I occasionally stalk your blog) and I knew I was a few weeks behind you. How are you already 35 weeks??
Michelle, I’m sure it’ll all come together! BTW – I meant to say on Sat night that you look great!
I really hope it comes together. If not – I’m having a prep party during early labor. You and Pete in? Lol. Thanks for the compliment — it was great seeing you!
I gained 40 pounds when I was pregnant with Bubus. Thats four-zero. FORTY. So don’t stress. You look great!
Nicole recently posted..Tu Vuo Fa L’Italiano — How to Become An Italian Citizen
You definitely didn’t look like you gained 40lbs – however you are one the smallest people I know! I’m sure that number was crazy for you to hear. It’s funny because even at my weight now – I weighed more in high school! Like a lot more. Ha ha.
You look great and don’t stress about what you still have to do. I am sure it will all get done. Or at least that is what I am telling myself, since we have done very little to get ready for baby. I know I am a couple of months behind you, but I also know how fast time goes.
Heather recently posted..Baby Update – 20 Weeks
Yes – it goes so fast!! Which hospital are you delivering at? Winter Park, too?
And you will get everything done and if you don’t – it’s not like you can’t do it after the baby arrives (obviously, I need to listen to my own advice!).
Tucks pads…oh the humanity. I think healing from labor is what I am most dreading this time around. I still have some Tucks in my cupboard from the last time around!
You look amazing, lady!!!
Thank you
The postpartum part is really the worst, right? It’s that kind of stuff they don’t prepare you for!! Just an FYI – stock up on Motrin/Tylenol (my Dr. said you can take them together). The after-birth pains with subsequent babies are VERY painful. I was like ‘WTF is this???” They stopped once my milk came in (so after 2-3 days), but YOUCH!!
Super pretzel makes a cinnamon sugar pretzel in the frozen food aisle! 30 sec in the micro!
You look great, I gained 40lbs with both my kids, I only wish I looked as good as you!
I have LOOKED for those pretzels – and they just have the regular ones at my grocery store. BOOOO! I guess I could take the plain ones and dip them in cinnamon/sugar.
You need to come to Boston…Market Basket!
I DO! (I actually think we are going to plan a trip this winter/Christmas, because we are crazy and want to show the kids what cold is really all about. Lol.)
Good lord, I don’t think I even bought anything until like 34 weeks (though we did have some gifts by then), much less set anything up! You are well ahead of the game. I’m going to be even worse with any future babies for sure, since we didn’t use much of our “gear” with Fern. I’ll probably check the infant car seat for spiders, pull out some clothes and the newborn cloth diapers, and call it good! Granted, some stuff is still set up due to sheer laziness – the kid has been potty trained for over six months and the changing table is still set up. It’s just a really elaborate cat bed now. Ha!
And damn you. I am feeling snacky right now and a cinnamon sugar pretzel sounds SO GOOD. Soft pretzels are really easy to make. Maybe I’ll whip some up tonight!
Well, this makes me feel better
I still had Livie’s changing table until her room until we moved it 3 weeks ago, lol. I don’t even think we used it with her (we did use the dresser portion of it)!
We pretty much bought all new gear since most of it was expired/gross – but it’s amazing how much less gear you buy with each kid.
What’s really sad is that we needed a tall dresser, so we have a separate changing table. So it has no other function (it was still cheaper and worked better in our space to do two different pieces). And the crib (which was also never used except to store clean laundry) is just disassembled and leaned up against the wall behind the changing table. I don’t have any closet space for it and the “basement” (it’s like a hybrid unfinished basement/crawl space) is too wet and gross to store it unprotected. I think I need a couple of huge garbage bags or something so I can wrap it up and get it out of the house!
Hooray for house cleaning and a massage! I’ve said it before, but you are one inspiring pregnant lady! I’ll be readin through these posts one day to stay motivated when I get pregnant with #2
You can get cinnamon sugar pretzels at Target, but they’re not as tasty as the mall ones.
Danielle K recently posted..Weigh-in Wednesday: Week 10
Wait – Target has cinnamon-sugar pretzels??? Ok, I need to check this out.
Wait…so you’re not bringing wine to the hospital? That sounds like a mistake.
I loved reading this post! You will get all your stuff done, just focus on 1 thing at a time! It is your 3rd baby, you’re like a pro at this now!
And the Jimmy Johns’ sub obsession….oh my gosh….i’m right there with ya! I can’t get enough.

Oh, I think I might have to bring it to the hospital this time
Lol.
I hope I can get it done. As I’m sitting here responding to blog comments I’m procrastinating on buy paint AGAIN, so obviously I’m not too worried. Ha ha.
Oh man, that list of things to do before BW3 gets here even makes me feel overwhelmed!! I’m sure you’ll get it all done though. Good luck picking out a paint color.

I say stock up on the wine. No needing to kid.
And I say you can definitely get all that done in 2 months! If all else fails…the baby can sleep in a drawer right? hehehe

Well, if you say I need to stock up on wine… I guess I need to make it happen
We have been joking about the baby sleeping in the drawer at work. It might happen (ha!).
You seriously look adorable!! LOVE your baby updates!!
