How is the weekend over so soon? We really didn’t do much, but it just seemed to fly by. I wish the week would go by as fast!
Friday was spent snuggling with my littlest guy…
With the exception of working out at the gym, we pretty much sat around at home all morning and afternoon. He spit up, drooled, and fell asleep on me several times. It was glorious.
I searched all day Saturday for my patience. Especially when dealing with this little lady…
Crying because her pizza bagel fell apart.
Have I mentioned how stubborn she is? I mean, I have NO idea where she gets it from at all. *looks around refusing to make eye contact*
On Sunday I woke up with a good amount of energy and we got some great news in the morning (that’s all I’m teasing you with now!) but after running around (and working out when I really didn’t want to) I faded fast. In fact, I was so exhausted yesterday I went to bed at the same time as Evan. I’m still tired today (because when am I not?), but it’s doable.
Drop off was SLIGHTLY easier today than last Monday (it helped that E gave Miss Angela a big smile when he saw her today), though I’m still struggling to get out of the house before 8:30 (I have 3 weeks to improve on this – once school starts I’ll need to leave the house by 8:10). I think I need to face reality — I need to wake up at 6:30-6:45. That’s early for me these days.
This week we don’t have much going on. I mean, we always have a lot going on, but it’s not blog fodder – unless you really WANT to hear about the 800 times I’ve repeated the phrase “Go brush your teeth” or “Clean your room.” I am not exaggerating at all.
Wait, I take that back — there is a little excitement going on this week… It’s my 2nd annual Girls Night Out. Remember this from last year?
We’re doing it again! I have super mom guilt about leaving E for the night, but Dan reassured me that a) they would be fine and b) he would still remember me when I got home. After spending 9+ months as the DD, I am ready to have a little fun. Of course, my tolerance is low so I’m definitely going to be a cheap date!
But that’s not until Saturday. Until then, here’s our weekly menu…
- Beef Stew
- Salmon, Brussels Sprouts, and Rice
- Crock Pot Ribs, Baked Beans, and Corn on the Cob
- My Favorite Salad
- Coconut Chicken, Broccoli, and Rice
I also REALLY want to make these. Somebody give me an excuse?
Wait – isn’t working out and breastfeeding/pumping like a cow a good enough excuse? Yeah, I thought so.
Speaking of workouts – I am slowly upping my mileage still and feeling good! Last week I did a 3 mile run outside, 2 spin workouts, 2 strength workouts, and a 4-mile run on the treadmill. I consider that a success!
This week I’m going to attempt a 5-mile run. I never thought I would be so excited about hitting 5 miles. That used to be my “go to” distance (a few times) during the week, so I’m happy I’m getting back there.
My strength training is going well, too. I’m not hardcore by any means, but I’ve been trying to use 15 and 20lb weights instead of the 10s and 12s I was using when I was pregnant. I’m even up to deadlifting 50lbs. Woo.
Here’s the plan for this week…
- Monday – Off
- Tuesday – Run (4-5 miles)
- Wednesday – Off
- Thursday Run (2-3 miles)*
- Friday – Solo Spin + Strength
- Saturday – Run (4-5 miles) + Strength
- Sunday – Spin (maybe – depending on how I’m feeling)
*I keep putting a Thursday workout in there – but I haven’t done one yet. Maybe this week?
So yeah. That’s what going on here. Just three more days until my weekend. I can do it, right?
Evan says YES!
What’s going on with you this week?
