TV Time – What I’m Watching

September 30, 2012 by Michelle 17 Comments

Normally, I would do a Sunday night post on what I did this weekend, but ummm…. what did I do? I feel like I rushed around a lot, but ended up doing nothing productive. So I won’t bore you with the details.

Instead, let’s talk TV! It’s that time of year, when all our favorite shows – and more come back.   I think some people feel the way about the return of football as I do about the return of TV. It makes me giddy. Here’s what I’m watching – and what I think SO far (I know, terribly important stuff).

Sunday Night

Revenge – ABC 9pm

ABP-8179 REV KeyArt_Premiere.indd

One of my favorites from last year – hope the 2nd season doesn’t disappoint!

666 Park Ave. – ABC 10pm

666parkave

This premieres tonight. If it sucks, we’ll drop it, but it’s luring me in with it’s similarities to The Devil’s Advocate and John Locke.

Monday

HIMYM – CBS 8pm

himym

There are rumors that this COULD be the least season, where we actually get to meet the mother. While I love the show and would gladly watch it for another year, I think it’s time.

Revolution – NBC 10pm

Revolution

I’ve seen 2 episodes and while I’m not completely sold, I like the concept and I like a lot of the actors. Plus it’s from JJ Abrams and Eric Kripke (creator of Supernatural). I might be expecting a lot though, we’ll see.

Tuesday

Go On – NBC 9pm

GoOn_P

Matthew Perry is back! I’ve watched all of his failed shows and I have A LOT more confidence in this one. He plays a sports radio host who lost his wife and joined a support group. Doesn’t that just sound like a barrel of laughs? Surprisingly, it has some really funny moments and a lot of heart.

The Mindy Project – Fox 9:30pm

TheMindyProject

I LOOOOOOVE Mindy Kaling (have you read her book?? it’s so good! Except you Paula, you probably wouldn’t like it – it’s similar to Bossypants) so I’m excited to see her branch out of her Office role. The pilot was promising and made me laugh out loud a few times.

Wednesday

Arrow (when I premieres)- CW 8pm

Arrow

I’m watching this solely based on the hotness of it’s stars. Plus it’s on before Supernatural and I surprisingly have nothing else on Wednesday night right now.

Supernatural – CW 9pm

Supernatural
Do I have to tell you why I love this show again? Even if last season was a little weak – there’s a new show runner, which gives me hope that it will return to it’s roots.

Modern Family – ABC 9pm

ModernFamily

Love this silly family.

Thursday

30 Rock – NBC 8pm

30Rock

My finale season of Liz!! What will I do without Tina Fey on my TV every Thursday? I guess we’ll find out in January (or just watch the older episodes in syndication/Netflix). I hope I enjoy every last minute of these 13 episodes!

Last Resort – ABC 8pm

LastResort

I actually had no idea that the hubby recorded this show, or that it existed until we started watching it on Friday. The name is horrible, but the pilot was AWESOME (highly worth checking out online) and it starts Scott Speedman (aka Ben from Felicity).  Word on the street is that the ratings were somewhat low, so I won’t get too attached, but I’m hoping it sticks around (or gets a better time slot).

Up All Night – NBC 8:30pm

UpAllNight

This show took a while to grow on me last season, but I ended up loving it. Unfortunately, this season is… not as great. They did some revamping and they now have Christina Applegate as a stay at home mom, Will Arnett partnering with her brother, and Maya Rudolph just being really annoying. I’m just not buying it. I’ll keep watching for the time being, but it’s on my “I’m not super happy with it” list.

Elementary – CBS 10pm

Elementary

Another show that I was really surprised I enjoyed! I pretty much loved this from finish to end. It’s procedural, but with some twists. The pilot was really smart and fast moving. Also, I love Lucy Lui in her role as Watson.

Friday

Fringe – Fox 9pm

Fringe

We still have 3-4 episodes on our DVR from last season — we are really making watching them a priority, huh? BUT, it’s the final season – so I figure we WILL watch it at some point.

So, I probably watch a little too much TV, huh? In our defense we DVR almost everything and then catch up over the course of the week. However, I now feel like I should go read a book.

What are you watching this season?

This and That

August 14, 2012 by Michelle 3 Comments

Talk about opposite week… last week was insane, this week is calmer than calm (i.e. boring). Not that I’m complaining, it’s just hard to go from one extreme to the other.

complaining

Ok, maybe I am complaining.

There is some excitement going on later in the week – we finally found out (today) who B’s teacher is next year (do I really have a 1st grader?? Yikes) and we get to meet her on Thursday. She’s a Seminole, so I already like her! I know B is excited about finding out who is in his class. I am only mildly prepared for this school year. Such a change from last year when I had everything I needed and more at this point. How things change in a year.

In cheating on my Saucony’s news – I broke in my new Brooks this week and they are different, but dare I say I like them??

Connect

I’veonly worn them on the treadmill and during strength training – and it might stay that way. I like the snugness of the Pure Connect and the roundness of the heel (they REALLY change your center of gravity when you strike), but I think I could run further distances in my Kinvaras or Guides, which for the record I really, really love. Don’t make me choose.

Speaking of shoes…my favorite little guy got his first pair of REAL running shoes today and he is enamoured.

photo

Aren’t they adorable? I went with the Brooks Pure Flow for Kids because I read great things about them. Plus, as you can see, they are neon green. Who doesn’t love neon green sneaks? I’m pretty sure he would have gone to bed wearing them if I let him. Or at least snuggled with them. He’s so excited about running in them. That’s my boy! Now if only he knew how to tie his shoes (don’t worry – we are seriously working on that one!)

In the this nothing to do with my life, but I want to be friends with Jennifer Garner news — this picture makes me squeeeeee! (no, not the half naked picture of Miranda Kerr)

JGarnerVGarber

I am a HUGE fan of Alias (God, I miss that show) and I love to see that this two really do love each other in real life. I don’t know WHY this makes me giddy, but it does. Maybe it’s because they just seem like genuinely nice people?? Jen, call me for a playdate – our kids are the same age 😉

And finally, in Breaking Bad news – we have 3 episodes left in Season 4 and we can finally catch up on Season 5, which is patiently waiting on our DVR.

breakingbad

This whole Call Me Maybe thing might be overdone, but I couldn’t resist.

We’re in the homestretch — and then we’ll have withdrawal. Speaking of which… time to watch!

Do you remember your first pair of running shoes? I don’t, but I don’t know that there was a big variety growing up. I do remember getting excited about LA Gears  and Keds.

Nothing Counts on Leap Day

February 29, 2012 by Michelle 4 Comments

Since nothing counts on Leap Day — I’m hoping this means my RSS feed will be back to normal tomorrow.

Apparently I was hacked again. Yes, again.

I’ve scanned my files (using the Exploit Scanner plugin) and found 51 possibly malicious files — unfortunately I can’t figure out how to delete them. Or determine if they are actually malicious. From what I can gather my php files have been attacked by an “eval base64_decode” virus. I have no idea what that means.

So True Tiger, whoever you may be, it’s so awesome that we are sharing a feed right now. I really enjoyed getting 25 of your posts at 11:41 today. Pretty sure everyone else subscribed to my feed was super excited about it too.

Screen shot 2012-02-29 at 7.44.04 PM

The eye of the tiger indeed.

This might be a good time to tell you that you can subscribe by email if you are annoyed by my RSS feed. You’ll get an email every time I post (finally figured out how to make this work again!).

Screen shot 2012-02-29 at 7.45.16 PM

Or you can switch the subscription to http://feeds.feedburner.com/crazyrunninglegs. That feed seems to be OK. Weird, right? I’m pretty sure my blog hates me.

Thank goodness real life begins in March. Or…just one of the craziest month EVER.

LeapDayWilliams

If nothing really DID count today — what would you do??? I think I might go on a shopping spree. Or rob a bank. Kidding. Kinda. OK, maybe I would just play hookey from work and go to the beach. Ahhh….that sounds nice.

Lemon Out

January 25, 2012 by Michelle 3 Comments

Everything I love about Tina Fey and 30 Rock is right here…

I, too, am sick of those “Sh*t People Who Wear Underwear and Do Stuff But Sometimes They Are REALLY Annoying Say, etc, etc, etc” videos and there are plenty of Lizzisms they left out, but this one is worth watching. Again and again.

Five for Friday: Revenge

January 20, 2012 by Michelle 19 Comments

Holiday weeks throw me off a bit. They always feel like they are so much longer than they really are. I could have sworn that yesterday was Friday. All day I thought – thank goodness tomorrow is the weeke…DAMN it’s only Thursday. Well, FINALLY it IS Friday. Not a moment too soon.

So one of my biggest guilty pleasures right now is Revenge. The drama, the clothes (seriously – who ever styles this show does an amazing job), the pretty people. THE REVENGE.

Revenge

I admit, I’m a sucker for a slow reveal. I love TV shows that take their sweet time rolling out the plot and then punch you in the gut with their twists and turns. The revenge IS the best part of the show though. It’s not even the superficial kind of revenge. It’s the well thought out, imploding from the inside out kind.

Of course, watching the show has made me think about the things I want revenge on – oh, and there are a few…

1. My hair in middle/high school.

BadHair

WTF is going on here people? (we’ll take about the clothes later) Remember this was pre-flat iron. Thank goodness for that little invention. (I’m pretty sure these pictures were also pre-braces. Thank goodness for those things)

2. Cancer.

cancer_cells

Sorry to get all serious here – but cancer is a BEAST I want serious revenge on it. It’s taken too many people I know and many people I’ve never met. I know I’m not alone, but it can make you feel so alone.

3. The fast food I ate (and ate, and ate) in high school.

fast-food-tattoos_130434663842

(In case I need to clarify – not me) (source)

Perhaps I needed to go through this phase to understand the importance of healthy eating and healthy living. Mostly I’m just annoyed I didn’t enjoy it MORE – is that weird? I don’t enjoy fast food at all now. The closest I get to it is a salad from Chik-fil-a or a burrito from Chipotle (owned by Mickey D’s). It just repulses me and makes me feel sick, which I am kinda thankful for.

4. Clomid and Femara.

clomid

These are drugs I took when I was trying to get pregnant (before B & L). They gave me hot flashes, mood swings, horrible acne — and didn’t work. I did get a sneak peek into menopause. Lord help us all.

5. Kate Middleton

KateM

Bitch. (OK not really, I love her — Prince William went up a few notches with that one. Yay for brunettes!)

What/who do you want revenge on? Do you watch Revenge??
